One of our best walking tour experience
We liked the description of this tour and gave it a go. From the time of booking, Denis kept in touch and the whole experience was just lovely! He’s very knowledgeable and we loved doing the tour with him. It was fascinating to walk through the different boroughs and get a feel of the vibe that each of them have. Definitely worth the money! He kept checking from time to time to make sure he was covering the places as per our liking. Also got some great recommendations on places to visit and dine. Getting to know a bit about the Italian culture and heritage, learning how to ride the subway and also some good pictures along the way are definitely a plus.
Response from the operator: Annapoorna and Advaith, thank you so much for this wonderful review! I'm really thrilled to hear that you had such a lovely experience exploring the different boroughs and soaking up their unique vibes. I always strive to personalize my tours and share my love for the city I call home; so knowing that you enjoyed the insights into Italian heritage, the subway tips, and the custom route means the world to me. Glad the recommendations and photos added an extra special touch to your journey! Thank you again for choosing my "NYC CONTRASTS" tour and for recommending it.

FANTASTIC tour- highly recommend
A wonderful experience. Denis was personable, listened to what we wanted to do, and was so sweet. Wonderful disposition and made us feel like we had known him for years. Very well versed about all things NYC. Highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for choosing me as your guide for your time in New York! It was truly a pleasure showing you around during our morning walk and getting to spend that time together with you and your family. Hearing that you felt like we’ve known each other for years is the best compliment I could receive. I’m so glad you enjoyed our walk, and I hope to welcome you back to the city again soon!

Loved our tour and tour guide
Loved the tour Dennis was the most fabulous tour guide. It was a private tour and he arranged it for all of our needs. He went over and above the call of duty
Response from the operator: Thank you very much, D.!! I almost blushed... Glad you loved our walk. For me it was really a pleasure. See you next time!

If we could, we would...
If we could, we would give this tour 6 stars! We had an amazing afternoon with Denis! We started in Brooklyn, went to Dumbo and pebble beach, walked the Brooklyn bridge and ended in Chinatown and Little Italy. Walking the Brooklyn bridge is a must do! Denis was even kind enough to throw in a little shopping time for our daughter. If we are back with friends, we will do again! Thanks, Denis!
Response from the operator: Thank you, Jill! I had a wonderful time exploring Dumbo and Chinatown with you all. Still impressed by the fact that you guys were not bothered by the weather... The constant rain added even more grit to our afternoon walk. I got a really good laugh at the '6 stars' in your text. I’ll take that as the highest compliment, even if the app only let you click four! Lol I’m so glad your daughter enjoyed her shopping time in SoHo. Hope to see you on your next visit!

Great experience!
We loved the tour that Dennis designed for us. He took into account all our suggestions and was able to fit everything in and even added a few extras based on our curiosity as we were following the route. To hear about New York City history from a guide with an Italian accent added so much character to the tour! We've got a few great restaurants suggestions too.
Response from the operator: Tatiana, grazie! I'm really glad that you and your guests enjoyed our morning walk. From the old warehouse in Tribeca to the remnants of New Amsterdam we covered a large part of the fascinating New York history. The warm sun and the almost perfect blue sky made the vistas even more cinematic. And trust me: it's not so common to spot Spider Man on the Brooklyn Bridge... Haha! Thank you again to you all. Next time you'll be in the city, we'll have coffee. Your favorite Italian espresso, of course!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.
How much does Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.
Is Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private New York Tour: Iconic Manhattan & Neighborhood Contrasts start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New York?
+
New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New York?
+
September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New York?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
