What you'll see and do
Emerald Lake
The Activity: A scenic, mostly level hike along the shoreline of Emerald Lake - one of British Columbia’s most spectacular alpine lakes. We hit the day's furthest point first, experiencing the vivid turquoise of the "Jewel of Yoho" and its breadth of geological features through active discovery before the mid-day rush. The full lakeside loop is 5.2km; we will complete the trail in its entirety or in part, depending on your group’s preference, the season, and current trail conditions. Duration: 1–2 hours.
90 minutes here · Admission included
Natural Bridge
The Activity: A brief stop along Emerald Lake Road to observe the Kicking Horse River as it carves its way through solid rock.
15 minutes here · Admission included
Lake Louise
The Activity: A visit to the most iconic basin in the range. We’ll move along the shoreline to reach the quieter vantage points of the lake and surrounding peaks, offering a better perspective of the Victoria Glacier and castle-like Fairmont Chateau. The in-and-out lakeshore trail is up to 4.6km in length, with nominal elevation gain. Duration: 1–1.5 hours.
75 minutes here
Moraine Lake
The Activity: At Moraine Lake, we combine a stroll along the forest-fringed lakeshore (up to 2.5km return) with a short climb up the "Rockpile" trail (350m each way). This provides a dual perspective: close-up views from the water’s edge, and the iconic, elevated vista of the stunning Ten Peaks and turquoise waters from the Rockpile perch. On our return toward Banff, we have the option for a quick pitstop at Lake Louise Village. Duration: 1–1.5 hours. Note: Because Moraine Lake Road is closed to all vehicles during the winter season (and to private, non-commercial vehicles year-round), this stop is only available between June and mid-October. Our van has the necessary permits for direct access during this window, so there is no need to change vehicles or worry about shuttle queues.
75 minutes here · Admission included
Bow Valley Parkway
The Activity: Time permitting, we transition to the Bow Valley Parkway for part of the leg back toward Banff. A quieter and more relaxed alternative to the Trans-Canada Highway, this route offers a different perspective of the valley and more frequent wildlife sightings. Note: certain sections are subject to seasonal closures for wildlife and to create a vehicle free experience for cyclists; during these times, we utilize the most scenic accessible portions of the route.

Great Lakes tour in Banff & Yoho!
For any considering a group/family trip to Calgary or Banff, highly recommend Russell from MOLARI Tours for any private tour needs. We had a group of 9 with some specific mobility needs in our party. Russell was highly professional, knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating to the group, and fun/entertaining. Turnkey and enjoyable day. Thank you!

Highly recommend
Russell was very informative and friendly. He made the trip memorable. Tailored everything to my family’s interests and gave us options on where to spend our time. He brought an excellent picnic lunch that we ate at one of the stops. He is the tour operator so if you book with him you get him. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was awesome
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the great review, Scott! We really appreciate your support. It was a blast hosting you and your family, and I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the day (and the lunch!) so much. I hope your day in Waterton was an excellent one as well. Till next time!

Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Banff.
How much does Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore cost?
+
Prices start at $195 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Banff usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Banff is not rushed.
Is Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Banff, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Banff can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Banff and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Moraine Lake, Lake Louise & Emerald Lake - Banff/Canmore start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Banff within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Banff?
+
On Outty we rank every Banff experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the Icefields Parkway Full-Day Tour, Hop-On and Hop-Off Banff Bus, ShuttleBus 2way Banff to Lake Louise (1Hr) and Moraine Lake (1Hr). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Banff?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Banff?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
