Absolute recommendation – Banana Joe & Hagen: Miami and the Everglades, like you never experience them otherwise!

We booked several private tours with Banana Joe for our Florida trip — the best decision of the entire trip. We cannot praise our guide Hagen enough. We have been to the USA several times and also to Miami before. Nevertheless, with Hagen we understood much more about the USA than before. He tells stories in such a way that you suddenly understand how people really live here and what is behind what you otherwise simply drive past. In addition, his German background: the differences and similarities between the USA and Germany really come out well because he knows both sides. The tour through Miami and the Everglades remained particularly memorable for us. Exciting from the first to the last minute — and it was also a huge amount of fun, Hagen is an incredibly likable person. Organizationally, everything worked perfectly. A very big recommendation from us for Banana Joe and for Hagen.

Top tour with a top guide

We booked the combo tour Everglades + Miami and are completely satisfied. The tours are worth every dollar! Hagen picked us up at the hotel and fed us with lots of information and facts on the drive to the Everglades - cold drinks were also on board. Afterwards there was the Miami tour, also entertaining, fun and peppered with tips on things to experience, eat, and drink. Hagen is a guide with heart and soul. He recommended so many tips and stops for our further road trip that we would never have found on our own (just the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg - I wouldn't have even known that one existed). They were really worth their weight in gold for us - e.g. also to experience the anthem at the Space Center in the morning at opening or to bring jackets for the chilly halls. Hagen, a thousand thanks - you made our stay an experience !!!

    Miami Vibes

We did the Banana Joe tour with Ruslan – and it was just great! Super sympathetic guide who told exciting stories and answered all our questions. Many stops, much seen and experienced: Ocean Drive, Star Island (Villas of Stars!), Wynwood Walls, Little Havana and Downtown with Cuban vibes, coffee and cigar rolls. It was absolutely worth it – highly recommended!

    Highly Recommend!!

Christian was a fabulous tour guide. He was very attentive and made sure we all had a great time. He stopped at several top places and provided time to walk around. The pick up and drop off at the hotel was wonderful. It was definatetly worth our time and money. We look forward to another tour soon.

    Brilliant and great guide

Christian was an excellent guide. We booked for the afternoon and we received updates about pick via what's app well in advance so we knew it would run a bit later. The tour began in south beach where we were staying but Christian still showed us places we hadn't seen and we learnt a ton. Further stops in Wynwood, Brickell and Luttle Havana with lots of history and stories made for a great trip. We also went to star island! Saw some very famous mansions. I'd highly recommend this tour.

Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Miami.

How much does Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $1450 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Miami usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Miami is not rushed.

Is Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Miami, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Miami can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Miami and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Miami City Tour with Expert Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Miami within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Miami?

    +

Miami splits between the water and the neighbourhoods. Biscayne Bay boat tours, Key Biscayne snorkelling and Everglades airboats cover the first, while Wynwood mural walks, Little Havana food crawls and South Beach deco tours cover the second. We rank Everglades operators carefully: many depart from Miami but the good ones run their own boats rather than reselling seats. On Outty we rank every Miami experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 hrs Miami Private Boat with Cooler, Ice, Bluetooth Stereo, Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami, Miami: 2 Hour Private Yacht Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Miami?

    +

November to April, dry season, before hurricane and humidity months. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Miami?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
