About this experience
This half-day walking-tour presents two of Vienna’s most outstanding periods, Baroque and Art Nouveau. We skip-the-line to explore the Upper Belvederes refined interior. The Austria Gallery’s highlight is the Kiss by Gustav Klimt – presented among ten other Klimts and works of his contemporaries like Schiele and Kokoschka. Baroque gardens always hide little surprises – lets decipher them. The open spaces of Schwarzenbergplatz and Karlsplatz offer unique vistas spanning periods from the seventeen-hundreds to WWII. An art nouveau signature building itself the Secession holds another Kiss at the end of Klimt’s “illustration” of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. At the end, Naschmarkt invites you to explore Vienna’s culinary diversity or just relax with an al fresco lunch or afternoon snack.

Do not book this tour !
I strongly recommended other travelers not to book this tour. The tour guide Walter distorted History for personal reasons and was very unprofessional. He has strong anti-american ideas like expressing his idea that NATO was originally formed by the U.S. in order to control Europe. He also believed that Austria would have been better under Soviet-era rule.
Response from the operator: Gonzalo, thank you for your feedback (05/29)! Although your negative rating results from another incident, including rudeness on your side – I respect your reception of my guiding-performance. Based on a profound academic education and forty+ years in travelling (including living 10 years in the USA) and guiding, I learned to consider/respect different ideological perspectives. Austrias skepticism towards NATO is documented by a survey that states 62% of Austrians would oppose NATO membership, if it ever would be even considered. Born under “Soviet rule” in suburban Vienna 1953 to a family with partly pre-communist Russian roots– I did not glorify that system, but mentioned, that Austria practices contacts with (any) Russia, free of Russophobia successfully. But yes, me and our guides are encouraged to share personal opinions – as we think that enriches our guests travel experience. That’s what we consider a “private tours” could be about too!

Very very good and educational with an excellent pace. Took us to metro and did great stories at sites!!
Pick up at hotel and riding Metro with all the explanations of the Art and historical reference. The explanation of klimts life, friends and insight into the art because of it. Loved the Belvedere and why it was built. Wonderful pace and helped so much with questions.
Response from the operator: Thanks Sandra, glad it worked out for us. It’s a somewhat challenging tour but we want go share a feel for Vienna beyond the pieces of art. Happy travels for the two of you!

Vienna Kisses
We learned so much about Vienna! This tour included information about the past and its effects on the present. We loved walking through Vienna even though the weather was troubling. Walter was the perfect guide. If you want to learn about Klimt, Vienna and all of its past glory then this is the tour for you.
Response from the operator: Thank you Marguerite, for the positive energy you brought into this tour at the beginning of the weatherwise most challenging weekend for Vienna. Glad you two enjoyed the mix of information amidst the environmental challenges we faced together.

Walter was great
Walter was great. Pace was perfect and the Belvedere was exquisite. Stopped for a beer at local pub which was quite enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour with Walter.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Carmine! Glad you liked the mix of “art and pleasure” – and we covered quite some ground. I enjoyed your company. Happy travels!

Great morning of art history and the city
Walter was a great guide. He was knowledgeable and charming. The art history was well presented and explained though the tour. He easily adjusted to the slower walking pace of a member of our party and made it an enjoyable morning. There is plenty of walking, so be aware of that. But highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you Evan! I’m glad that - building on the special interest – we were able to get a feel for the city. Wish you a save “floating” to Amsterdam!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession cost?
+
Prices start at $367 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Klimt & Vienna Art Walk — From Baroque to Secession start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
