Perfect day in Ulaanbatar
It was a great day to learn about the city. Brian was on time and perfectly prepared with the day's schedule. I could adjust the schedule to my preference. This flexibility is always very handy. Brian is very knowledgeable and dedicated to his clients. The lunch visit to the Modern Nomads restaurant was a great surprise. The whole day was very packed but manageable. WhatsApp is very useful for communication. I will highly recommend this tour to learn about Ulaanbaatar.

Can’t miss this tour
Byambaa (aka Brian) was excellent. His deep knowledge of the Tibetan Buddhist faith gave us an insight into the philosohy that allowed us to apreciate the temples more than we expected. He was attentive to all our needs and limitations which made for a very enjoyable tour. If we ever have the proviledge of returning to UBN, we will seek him out.

Great City Tour Experience
I had agreat city tour with Byambasuren. He picked me up from my hotel in a clean and spacious SUV and allowed me to personalize the tour to my preferences. Since I booked at the last minute, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to see, so I relied on Byambasuren’s recommendations. His extensive knowledge of the city and country greatly enhanced the experience. I visited several beautiful temples and statues, each accompanied by detailed explanations of their historical significance and current relevance. I also learned about the modern practices of those who consult with monks on various issues. For lunch, we dined at Modern Nomads Mongolian Restaurant, which offered a vast selection of food and drink. The ambiance, along with the art and decor, made for a delightful dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the engaging conversation with Byambasuren. After lunch, we headed to the Chinggis Khaan Museum, where I spent several hours exploring the art and authentic artifacts on display. The tour can be tailored to your interests, so when I expressed a desire to shop for souvenirs, Byambasuren recommended the State Department Store over the Black Market, stating it had a better selection of quality items. I spent some time browsing the vast array of authentic souvenirs. Having arrived late the night before, I realized I wouldn’t be able to finish the full day-long tour. The option to choose where to visit and when to conclude the tour was incredibly convenient. Even though I had time left, I decided to end the day earlier than planned due to my exhaustion from the late flight, and Byambasuren was completely supportive of that choice. Overall, Byambasuren is an excellent communicator and driver, making the day enjoyable. He offers a variety of other tours as well. After experiencing the city tour with him, I would certainly consider booking additional tours in the future. I highly recommend his services if you’re unsure about which tours to choose for an authentic experience.

Excellent, easy tour with a flexible, informative guide
Excellent experience from prompt pick up to making sure I got back at my requested end time (4:30 - much earlier than the tour should normally finish) - no mean feat given the very heavy traffic in the city that can be gridlock and frustrating. The Buddhist center with four temples was first stop, I spent about 1.5hr there with Byamba giving me a guided tour and lots of information, and I saw/heard the monks chanting. Then a couple of hours self-guided of the Ghengis Khan museum (scan the QR codes for somewhat useful info on exhibits in English). I skipped lunch as I was short on time for the day and wasn't hungry after a quick coffee at the Ghengis museum. The Winter Palace of the last King and Queen was fascinating and I got another guided history tour from Byamba (plus exhibits have labels in English). Since I had to end early, we zipped to the Zaisan Memorial where it's a short climb up for a view of the city, and I didn't do the cultural show so can't comment on that. Very comfortable ride, easy conversation, and it really was a great day. You pay entrance fee for Ghengis museum - they take Visa - but the Winter Palace doesn't take Visa, so you need Mongolian cash for that (it was 18 000).

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ulaanbaatar.
How much does Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ulaanbaatar usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ulaanbaatar is not rushed.
Is Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ulaanbaatar, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ulaanbaatar can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ulaanbaatar and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Jeep City tour with English Speaking Driver start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ulaanbaatar within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ulaanbaatar?
+
On Outty we rank every Ulaanbaatar experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Genghis Khan Statue+Terelj Park+CamelRide+Eagle, A day trip to Terelj National Park and Statue of Chinggis Khan, BEST 5* Chinggis Khaan Airport UBN Ulaanbaatar Transfer Taxi 24/7. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ulaanbaatar?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ulaanbaatar?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
