Great, but the time in the air did not match the time advertised
Great experience, especially going up with other balloons going up at the same time as it was beautiful! Just a note though that the booking stated that it was for 3+ hours, but it is a one hour flight only.

Beautiful dawn flight over Albuquerque
Justin and his crew provided a great experience. We had never been in a balloon before so we were super excited and a little nervous. Everything was handled great from the pre-flight safety instructions to the post landing celebration! Justin answered all our questions and made our flight memorable.

Amazing Views with amazing people
I usually don’t write reviews, but this really needs to be shared. I have wanted to do a hot air balloon flight for a long time, and since we were in the Albuquerque area, I started looking into where to do it. I chose Elevated New Mexico because the reviews were great, the timing worked well for us, and the price was reasonable. So I booked a flight for two people. Before the flight, I had a few questions and reached out to them through the TripAdvisor portal. I received a reply the same day with all my questions answered. I was also informed that all specific instructions would be sent by text message and email 24 hours before the flight. That’s where the adventure began. We received a text message with all the important details and were instructed to meet sharp at 7:00 am at Hannah & Nate’s (there are multiple locations with the same name in Albuquerque, so make sure you go to the correct one). We were warmly welcomed by one of the owners of this family-run business. She gave us a short safety briefing, explained what to expect, and then drove us about one minute to the launch location. There, we met our pilot, who provided additional information and prepared the balloon. Once everything was ready, we climbed into the basket and the flight began. We flew over Albuquerque and enjoyed absolutely amazing views. We even did a splash-and-dash on the mighty Rio Grande. Our pilot was incredible — he helped us take pictures, answered all our questions, and flew the balloon as if he was born to do it. As our flight time came to an end, he made a safe and very comfortable landing. After landing and packing up the balloon, we were welcomed with mimosas, apple cider, and some snacks. We also received interesting information about flying and hot air balloons in general. Personally, I will recommend Elevated New Mexico to everyone visiting the Albuquerque area. I honestly don’t care if they think they don’t want to fly — I will try to convince them anyway, because this was an absolutely unforgettable experience. If I had to rate this on a scale from 1 to 10, it would easily be a million or more. All our dreams came true and even more. Thank you so much for this incredible experience! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Albuquerque.
How much does Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico cost?
+
Prices start at $350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Albuquerque usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Albuquerque is not rushed.
Is Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 96 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Albuquerque, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico?
+
Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Albuquerque can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Albuquerque and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Hot Air Balloon Flights with Elevated New Mexico start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Albuquerque within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Albuquerque?
+
Albuquerque is balloon country: sunrise flights over the Rio Grande valley, plus Sandia Peak tram rides, Old Town and Route 66 tours, petroglyph hikes and Breaking Bad location runs. Weather-cancellation policy is the thing to read before booking a flight. On Outty we rank every Albuquerque experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 8pm ORIGINAL Ghost Tour of Old Town Albuquerque - since 2001!, Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise, ABQ Trolley Co. | Best of ABQ City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Albuquerque?
+
October for Balloon Fiesta, otherwise April to June and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Albuquerque?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
