Beautiful day riding horses through the ocean
Suzette is such a gem!! Support the locals and go with a tour with Suzette’s tour company. She was so friendly and flexible. We talked the whole way to the horse back riding. The horse back riding was awesome. We had a great time riding the horses through the water. The guides were so funny and friendly. I would absolutely go again!

Thrilling
Our driver was Mark and it was his first day. He stayed and waited on us while we took our ride. The view of the sky from Sunset Beach was beautiful. I rode Black Princess, guided by Greg. He was nice and reassuring the entire time. While my partner rode Charlie. Overall Mark took wonderful care of us.
Response from the operator: Thanks for your review.

Do Not Recommend
I can't even give this tour a rating doesn't deserve it. 45 min ride was'nt even 20 mins. Start out by ur horse being dragged by its bridle for approx 5 mins by 3 huts to the beach. Which is littered with garbage, I mean littered, poor horse was walking over glass liquor bottles. 5 more mins on the beach and guide says to take a 15 min break. Then 5 mins in the ocean and time to head back over all the garbage again while the horse is being hit or things thrown at its rump. I wanted to cry for the poor thing. $140.00 Us for the worst experience of my life. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. They r more interested in taking ur pictures and wanting $60 at the end of ride.
Response from the operator: Sorry for your Experience with us,i am the one that take this customer to the tour she came back when I was expecting the tour to end. This customer told me she have horses and she want to ride alone I told her it's a guided ride and we cannot allow her to just go Riding by herself because if anything happens we will be in trouble. She was a bit upset when she realized she won't go and just ride around so I guess that is why she's going so hard with this review.

Horrible. Avoid!!!
Jamaica is beautiful, but this was an awful experience. Upon arrival there was 20+ men standing around staring at us, the horses did not have shoes on and did not seem to be in the best of health. Both of our guides were pulling the horses by their bits in their mouth. Without being pulled, the horses did not want to walk. The path was covered in trash, the beach was covered in trash, and we felt uncomfortable. The horses did not want to go in the ocean either and we were left on the beach for 20+ mins to “swim” but were never told so until we asked what we were doing there. Overall it was a total waste of money, super slow riding, absolutely no independent riding, and lasted only 45-60 mins max.
Response from the operator: We at Suzette tours Jamaica apologizes for your Experience. The 20+ men you saw are all guides for the stable, the trash on the trail are just leaves, the trash you saw on the beach is when the ocean cleanses itself overnight from time to time,I can't see why you were left for 20mins because each guest have a guide and they don't just leave guests like that,if you see an horse with out shoe it's not a working horse it's waiting to be shoed buy the person that shoe horses.Sorry for your bad Experience hope we can cater to you better in the future.

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ocho Rios.
How much does Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ocho Rios usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ocho Rios is not rushed.
Is Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ocho Rios, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ocho Rios can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ocho Rios and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Horseback Riding from Ocho Rios with Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ocho Rios within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ocho Rios?
+
On Outty we rank every Ocho Rios experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Hole only-from Ocho Rios, Ocho Rios Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Tour, Blue Hole and Dunn’s River Falls Tour with Lunch and Cocktails at Reggae Hill. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ocho Rios?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ocho Rios?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
