What you'll see and do

  1. Kim Bong Carpentry Village

Kim Bong Carpentry village is not the only place remaining the traditional habits and costumes of Hoi An; but it is also considered the origin of craftsmen generations nowadays. Along with Thanh Ha village and Tra Que village, Kim Bong village is a testament to a bustling, long-standing and prosperous land of Hoi An – the ancient capital of Vietnam during the 16th century. With the convenient situation and come-in-handy commune, Kim Bong Carpentry Village used to be the hustling market and the interaction of many foreign merchants in Feudalism. Nowadays, the village retains its traditions and develops the techniques of sculpture, which is considered “the specialty” of the village. The culprit behind the popularity of Kim Bong tourist attraction is the sophistication of craftsmen products as well as the long-ago history of an ancient village. Tourists coming from all regions always desire to come to discover the pastoral beauty of nature and subtle fingers of craftsmen here.

  2. Cam Kim Island

Here, visitors will see tranquil villages, rice fields, vegetable gardens, and craft workshops. 3. Thanh Ha Pottery Village

Pottery craft in Thanh Ha, flourishing in the 16th and 17th centuries, has profoundly impacted Hoi An's history. Thanh Ha bricks and tiles were crucial in shaping Hoi An's ancient architecture. These pottery products are also a distinctive product of Quang Nam, integral to the making of household items. Many skilled artisans of Thanh Ha have influenced the architecture of the royal buildings in Hue. Beyond pottery-making, the villagers have preserved a rich system of folk knowledge and specialized terminology related to their craft. These cultural values are actively preserved and showcased in the village's tourism activities, allowing visitors to appreciate the traditional craft. Thanh Ha pottery was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2019.

  4. Tra Que Vegetable Village

Tra Que is a small village located 3km north of Hoi An’s Old Town. Its location is between De Vong River and Tra Que alga pond. Thanks to the special condition of rich soil and water, the village has long been known for growing many kinds of vegetables: lettuce, salad, houttuynia, flagrant knoutwed, basil and coriander vegetables etc, with which the traditional specialities of Hoi An have gained part of their fame. It is fascinated by watching the farming procedures of local farmers, including: raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables and many other activities which are rarely seen in modern daily life. Moreover, tourists can listen to people talking about organic farming techniques and try their hand at actual farming. The farmers don’t use chemical or fertilisers but a kind of algae found only in a lagoon in Tra Que. Thanks to this technique, Tra Que herbs and veggies are widely recognized for their quality, safety and especially outstanding taste and flavour.

  5. Bay Mau Coconut Forest

It is one of the most popular ecotourism sites in Hoi An City. It reminds visitors of places in the southwestern area with fresh air, a pervasive green coconut forest and leisurely, peaceful boat rides. The forest is located in Cam Thanh commune, near Cua Dai Bridge, about 4 km from Hoi An city. The name Bay Mau was given because this nipa palm forest previously had an area of about 7 acres (Bay Mau). Currently, the coconut forest area has been developed to be much larger, yet the name Bay Mau remains. During the resistance war, the forest area was an important base for the Vietnamese army and people. The lush green coconut trees, stretching across the river, unintentionally became a shield to protect villagers and soldiers during wartime. Over time, with strong tourism development in Hoi An, the coconut forest has become an attractive eco-tourism destination. It is said that more than 200 years ago, people brought coconut varieties from the southwestern region of Vietnam to Hoi An

Fun afternoon seeing Hoi An

My 10 year old daughter & I did a custom tour around Hoi A with Nhi & Hong. They were wonderful, careful, knowledgable guides. We loved zipping around Hoi An with them & trying some great local food. Would easily recommend them as guides here!

Response from the operator: Dear our guests, Thank you very much for your kind compliments about the experience with us. We hope to see you soon for another journey with us in the short future. Kind regards, Hung Le Travel

Fabulous motorbike tour with locals

This was a fantastic tour with local women drivers. We went to 2 villages, did a bucket boat trip at one and visited a local village farm at the other. Our drivers were very safe. The motorbikes were a really terrific way to see the countryside. It was an experience I will value. My driver, Toy, was so lovely and friendly, explaining things as we went along. Really enjoyed this tour.

Great tour with locals

This was an excellent tour. I was worried about going on the motorbikes in traffic, but my driver, Toy, was so gentle that I never felt unsafe. It was a really fantastic way to see some countryside. We went on the bucket boats, skipping the big long tourist bus lines. Then to a herbal/vegetable farm run by a village. That was really interesting smelling the different Vietnamese herbs to Australian ones. Then our ladies took us to a little place for a Vietnamese meal, which was delicious. Overall I found this tour very safe and very interesting. Our lady drivers were wonderful, sharing lots of local information.

Safe, comfortable and enjoyable tour

I did this tour with my mum who is in her 70’. I book the tour on that day and Sandy still took us around. The booking process was very smooth and communication went well. Sandy and Hung came to pick us up on time. They took us around three villages which was very interesting. Mum and I enjoyed the ride and felt very safe. Especially for my mum, the tour lead by female guide made her comfortable. Ladies are very knowledgeable for the local customs, cuisines and speaks perfect English. Riding scooter in Vietnam can be a bit scary but this is how ppl live in here. We were both very happy to be able to experience the Vietnamese culture.

Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hoi An.

How much does Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hoi An usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hoi An is not rushed.

Is Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hoi An, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Hoi An Scooter/Motorbike Tour Village By Aodai Lady Rider?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hoi An can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hoi An and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hoi An within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hoi An?

+

On Outty we rank every Hoi An experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HOI AN Hidden Gems in Rural Villages & River Islands PRIVATE TOUR, Coconut Jungle Eco & Hoi An City Tour With Boat Ride, Cooking Class Hoi An:Local Market, Basket Boat, Fishing & Cooking. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hoi An?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hoi An?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
