About this experience
If you love amazing food and entertainment, this is the tour for you. Leaving from our heli-pad, we will fly north over Jacob’s Creek. Once we’re over the valley floor, we head northwest over Tanunda; Nuriootpa then direct to Allendale. Landing right next door to the Wheatsheaf Hotel. Here you will be looked after by Mark and Chelsea. You might even meet local legendary horseman; Tom Willoughby will roll in for a beer and a yarn. He might even arrive on one of his beautiful movie star horses, really, they have acted in movies with Simon Baker and Sam Neil!! They all love a good scratch, selfie and will wait patiently while Tom has a beer with you! After lunch we take the return flight over Historic Kapunda. Kapunda’s claim to fame is that the town is home to Australia’s most haunted hotel, The North Kapunda Hotel. Birthday helicopter flight
With our friendly and knowledgeable pilot Nick we took off from #barossahelicopters and headed to the Wheatsheaf Hotel at Allendale for lunch. We passed over a few wineries and Kapunda where we saw the big miner dressed up as Father Christmas and had a different perspective of the Silo art there. Introduced to Mark who delivered a delicious lunch, had a couple of bevvies and then unfortunately we had to head back to base ..... all in all a big thumbs 👍 up for the helicopter flight and another thing crossed off my bucket list.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the wonderful review — we absolutely loved reading this! 🚁✨ It sounds like a cracking day out, and we’re so glad Nick could show you the Barossa from a whole new perspective. Flying over Kapunda (and spotting the big miner in Christmas mode!) plus the silo art is always a crowd favourite, and pairing that with lunch at the Wheatsheaf is hard to beat. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Nick and Mark — they’ll both be stoked. And ticking something off the bucket list by helicopter is always a win in our books! Thanks again for choosing Barossa Helicopters. We’d love to have you back anytime for the next adventure 👏🍷

Outback Pub Crawl
What an amazing experience. Our pilot Nick went above and beyond to make it a day to remember.Flying over the Mighty Murray landing at the Swan Reach hotel for coffee. Overland Corner Hotel for the most delicious lunch next the Wool Shed Brewery and finally the Sedan Hotel. We both agree it was money well spent. Would definitely recommend it. Thank you Barossa Helicopters and Nick.
Response from the operator: Hi Sue, Thank you for choosing to share a birthday celebration with us! Nick is one of the best in the business (well, we think so!). His attention to clients is second to none! The pubs are great too! Each one with their own charm of rustic! We appreciate you taking the time to post such a lovely review. - Bridgette :)

Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Adelaide.
How much does Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub cost?
+
Prices start at $1722 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Adelaide usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Adelaide is not rushed.
Is Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Adelaide, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Adelaide can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Adelaide and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Helicopter to The Wheatsheaf Pub start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Adelaide within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Adelaide?
+
On Outty we rank every Adelaide experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Barossa Small Group Tour: Wine tasting, Lunch & Chocolate, Discover Barossa: 4 Wine Tastings, Gourmet Lunch, and Hidden Gems, Adelaide Highlights, Hahndorf & McLaren Vale Wine Tasting and Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Adelaide?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Adelaide?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
