Great Half day experience
Our hotel gave us a leaflet upon arrival for Green Devil Tours and we decided to book a private half day trip for my wife and 12 year old son. We were picked up at our hotel in the standard open top Land Rover Discovery. Unsure where best to visit on the Island, we asked our driver, Bruno, to advise and left it up to him. Straight away, relevant points of interest were shown and spoken about. It was clear our Madeiran driver knew his stuff and without him the experience would not have been the same. Our first visit was to the beautiful Cabo Girao, a stunning view perched on a glass viewing platform 580m above sea level. Everywhere we went the smell of eucalyptus filled the air due to the vast amount of trees on the Island. Our next stop was the National park where the Discovery came into it's own off road. The constant climb to the peak, Pico Do Arieiro, was distracted due to the scenery, absolutely stunning. Arriving at the top we had time to walk about and discover and see the clouds moving around us. Madeira is such a beautiful place. The journey down was just as good as Bruno took a slightly different route and showed us numerous places of beauty and historic importance. We ended the tour just out of Funchal at the statue of Christ looking towards Funchal. A fantastic half day tour, well worth the money. A big thumbs up to Bruno.

Dinarte gave us a great tour!
Dinarte gave us an amazing experience! After being on Madeira for 1 week Dinarte showed us the spots we missed, and it was an experience to last a lifetime. Dinarte, born and raised on Madeira, knows all the spots and knows all about the island, it was great! Nature, villages, stunning views, places where tourists do'nt come, local places for drinks and food, Dinarte made our tour the best experience we had on Madeira. We will surely look up Dinarte when returning to Madeira! Many thanks, Dinarte.

How many days do you need in Funchal?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
