    The Perfect Day

This Private Grand Canyon Day Tour, with Chris as our guide, was outstanding! He picked us up in a convenient location to where we were staying in Sedona, and the van was very clean and comfortable. Chris is very knowledgeable about the area, and we enjoyed listening to him as we made our way from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. He told us of the big fire north of Sedona and how it is affecting the water and camping at Oak Creek Canyon and the Sedona area. He is witty and funny, and we found him very entertaining as well. Before we knew it, we were at the Grand Canyon. He explained since it was partly cloudy, it would be a great day for pictures with the contrasting shadows, and he was right! He also took great pictures of us with our friends at several places with a beautiful background behind us. Because of the recent flooding at the Grand Canyon, The El Tovar Restaurant was closed because the flood took out the water supply. Chris had communicated to us, because of this, we would be having a late lunch on the Navajo Reservation and to bring sandwiches to tide us over. He provided beverages and snacks during our trip. We did to get to tour the El Tovar Lodge and he told us some great stories of Teddy Roosevelt and Paul McCartney while they were staying there. We did have some weather but Chris read it very well and directed us to spots where we could get out to view the canyon without getting drenched. He was great at taking us to clean restrooms throughout the day. After our stops at Grand Canyon, we made our way to the Navajo Reservation and ate lunch in Cameron at the Cameron Trading Post. It was fantastic!!! We shopped in the Gift Shop and found many authentic Navajo items to choose from. Overall, we had a perfect day. Thank you, Chris!

Response from the operator: Dear Sharon, thank you for the wonderful review. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed out outing at the Grand Canyon. Give us a call when you come back through Sedona. Say hi to everybody. Chris

    Our experience

We had an excellent experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She remembered all of our names and was very good at taking feedback on what we wanted to do. We had lunch away from the Grand Canyon because the hotel accommodations in Grand Canyon were closed due to a flood. That lunch experience was very good. All of us enjoyed the full day that we had with our tour guide. She picked us up at the hotel and dropped us back off without any issues. I would highly recommend touring with this company. Although the price was quite high, the value for the money was very good.

    Wonderful private tour!!

Wow! He’s amazing. Chris was so informative, flexible with children, and knowledgeable . He had so many snacks available for kids. He took us to the secret spots and gave us VIP treatment at EL Tovar restaurant. He recommended places that supported small business or native made items. 1000/10 stars!

Response from the operator: Dear Leslie, thank you for your wonderful review. Always happy to hear the kids had a good time as well. Hope to see you and your family again next time you come to Sedona. Until then, Greetings from Red Rock Country. Chris Kelly

Private Grand Canyon Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sedona.

How much does Private Grand Canyon Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $339 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sedona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Grand Canyon Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sedona is not rushed.

Is Private Grand Canyon Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 373 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Sedona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Grand Canyon Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Grand Canyon Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Grand Canyon Day Tour?

    +

Around 131 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sedona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sedona and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Grand Canyon Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sedona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sedona?

    +

Sedona's activity market is dominated by off-road jeep tours, and the difference between operators comes down to which trails they are permitted to run. Beyond that: vortex and energy walks, hot air balloon lifts at dawn, stargazing sessions in one of the darkest skies in the country, and Grand Canyon day runs north. We rank on permit access and group size. On Outty we rank every Sedona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Grand Canyon Complete Tour from Sedona or Flagstaff, Sedona’s ONLY Guided ATV Tour: Western Red Rock Backcountry, Kayak Tour on the Verde River. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

    +

March to May and September to November. Summer afternoons bring monsoon storms. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sedona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Private Grand Canyon Day Tour?

    +

Included: Hotel pickup and drop-off; Professional guide; Private tour; Snacks; and Bottled water and Gatorade. Not included: Gratuities for the guide. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Private Grand Canyon Day Tour include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 140 listed pickup locations in and around Sedona.

What languages is Private Grand Canyon Day Tour offered in?

    +

It is offered in German and English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Private Grand Canyon Day Tour?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is Private Grand Canyon Day Tour wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

The operator notes: Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller; and Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to Private Grand Canyon Day Tour if the weather is bad?

    +
