Bad Experience with Amalfi Coast Tours and Viator
Attention Amalfi Coast visitors! Under no circumstance should you even consider booking anything with Amalfi Coast Tours. They are a fraudulent company and you will not receive the service you thought you were paying for. In April we prepaid $824 for a full day tour of the Amalfi Coast with an English speaking guide. Today we were picked up in Amalfi for the so called tour by an individual who said he was only a driver and basically spoke no English. Our “tour” basically was only a one hour unaccompanied stop in Positano and a one hour unaccompanied stop in Ravello. That’s it! No history of the area, no stops for photo ops and no historical sites. We aborted the tour after the Positano stop. We called the tour operator office and demanded a refund because this is not what we paid over $800 for. The person we talked to said he would have to talk to his manager and he would call us back in 2-3 minutes. Of course, we never received a call back. We received several arrogant texts from the tour operator in our attempt to get our money back. One even said we maybe should stay home. You also need to be cautious of Viator because they are the company we booked through. They gave been no help and they are supportive of the fraud that’s being perpetrated on unsuspecting visitors by the Amalfi Coast Tour company. I am now preparing to take legal action against these fraudsters.
Response from the operator: Dear Customer, We are sorry to read your review, but we must clarify several inaccuracies in your account. The service you booked was not a private guided tour with a licensed English-speaking guide. As clearly stated in the tour description, the service included a professional driver with conversational English appropriate for transportation services, not a private tour guide providing historical explanations or accompanying guests during visits. The itinerary also clearly specifies the stops and free time in the various locations along the Amalfi Coast. At no point was a private guide, guided visits, historical commentary, or accompaniment in Positano and Ravello included in the package you purchased. We respectfully encourage future travelers to carefully read the full tour description before booking, so that the service expectations match exactly what is being offered. We are particularly surprised by your accusations of fraud, as the service delivered was consistent with the description published at the time of booking. Furthermore, the vast majority of our guests leave extremely positive reviews about our tours and customer service, which accurately reflects the experience normally provided. While we respect your right to express your opinion, dissatisfaction arising from expectations that were not included in the purchased service cannot reasonably be attributed to our company. That's why Viator denied your refund request. We wish you all the best for your future travels. Kind regards, Amalfi Coast Tours

Amalfi Coast Holiday
Really well organized by Antonio. The Van was very comfortable and the Driver could speak English and was amazing. We had a good time touring the towns and had a great time.

Highlight of my Amalfi coast experience
This was the highlight of my trip On the coast. It was a great opportunity to see the best views of the beautiful coast in the most fashionable car, taking great pictures. Had the chance to see many smaller towns like Praiano, Amalfi,Fiordo Di Furore. I was picked up from minori. Antonio was very pleasant and also was a great tour guide. He is a great photographer too! Highly recommend. Got to spend sometime in the busy positano which was good.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amalfi.
How much does Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi cost?
+
Prices start at $414 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amalfi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amalfi is not rushed.
Is Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amalfi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amalfi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amalfi and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full-Day Amalfi Coast Tour from Amalfi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amalfi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amalfi?
+
On Outty we rank every Amalfi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hands-On Cooking Class & Farmhouse Tour on the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast Boat Rental: Explore, Swim, and Relax at Your Pace, Amalfi: Kayak-Snorkeling to Pandora Cave Hidden Beach & Aperitif. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amalfi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amalfi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
