    About this experience

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional cuisine. Ioana, originally from Romania, has been living in France since 2008. She lives in Montreuil, a Paris suburb easily accessible by metro. Her food is inspired by her Romanian origins, Balkan roots and love for French cuisine. Ioana's beautiful, cozy apartment is a short train ride away from the city center. For your meal you can choose from a Romanian or French menu or even a fusion one - which combines her family recipes with a French touch. In your 1 hour hands-on Paris cooking class, learn to make a main dish or dessert from scratch. Learn to make borek, a savory pastry filled with feta and spinach or papanasi, a cheese beignet with sour cream and blueberry jam or boeuf bourguignon, a French beef stew braised in red wine.

    Meal in a lovely apt

We truly enjoyed ourselves and the experience was great, however it wasn’t a cooking class. Our hostess cooked and we enjoyed the meal. Even tho it was very good it wasn’t anything I couldn’t have done at home. I feel she should actually give a class with instruction for a more difficult meal. We really enjoyed her tho

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re so glad you enjoyed your time with Ioana, the meal, and the overall experience, and we’re sorry the cooking class did not fully meet your expectations. We understand you were hoping for a more hands-on and instructional experience. While our hosts do tailor the level of guest participation based on individual preferences, we have shared your feedback with Ioana and have reinforced that the hands-on elements of the experience should be offered to guests by default. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as feedback like yours helps us continue improving our experiences for future travelers.

    A wonderful meal with Loana

We had a wonderful evening with Loana! She prepared a great meal for us, gave us the hands-on experience of preparing dessert, and her knowledge and passion for her craft is evident. This was the perfect addition to our trip to Paris.

    Awesome experience!

Fabienne is a wonderful host! Did this experience with friends (we were all visiting from the US) and it was one of the most memorable experiences we had. From arrival, Fabienne greeted us and walked us through how to make a yummy French dessert. She made us a special cocktail to enjoy with pre-dinner snacks. We had a lovely dinner but the best part was learning about Fabienne's lifestyle, history and perspective on France. It was a great way to learn more about the French culture and what makes them so passionate about their way of life. Highly recommend!

Outstanding experience with delightful French hostess

Fabienne is charming, interesting and delightful. Felt like I was having dinner with an ole friend. Great experience shopping for cheese at the Bon Marche. Fun to help prepare the Tarte Tatin in her tiny kitchen. The green salad with foie gras and marinated fresh peaches was different and delicious. She served my favorite French dish blanquette de veau with rice and sautéed mushroom - outstanding. Of course the tarte tatin was perfect. Great aperitif of champagne and aperol and a wonderful Saint Emillion with the dinner. I will do it again and will recommend it to anyone who is going to be in Paris. Meric beacoup, Fabienne

Interesting and fun Local Market Tour

Laurence has built this tour around her vast knowledge of and passion for good quality food, which makes the experience truly enjoyable. She has an exciting and fun way of describing the ingredients and explaining the background of the food and the people you encounter that makes you want to only eat fresh, local, high quality food ever again. As we walked through the market, Laurence was tailoring our tour and our tastings to what she observed we were interested in, which made the experience extra special. Having this local experience was a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the Paris most tourists are seeing. Even the staff at the coffee shop where we met up were sweet and energetic, which is not always the temperament of people working in the tourist heavy areas. We highly recommend this tour if you love food, a local experience and good company!

Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.

How much does Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana cost?

    +

Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.

Is Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private French Home Cooking Class in Paris with Local Chef Ioana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

    +

Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Paris?

    +

April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Paris?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
