Personal Tours, Perfectly Tailored
Echo of Travel China Guide organised this 9-day tour perfectly, matching us with delightful, knowledgeable and helpful guides. Both Joy & Jean listened to what we wanted and tailored the different tours to suit us. We have no Chinese language, so again both Joy & Jean were invaluable in finding food & coffee and negotiating the purchase. Travel China Guide arranged for a car & driver to take us around the sights, and we felt very comfortable & safe with the driving and the vehicles. We have no hesitation in recommending TCG and would use them again. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our (all too brief) tour of this wonderful country. Hong Kong - Chengdu - Leshan - Mt. Emei - Chengdu - Huanglong - Jiuzhaigou - Chengdu - Qingdao
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're absolutely thrilled that your 9-day tour across Hong Kong, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Qingdao, and beyond was such a success. Joy and Jean will be so happy to know that their tailored approach and language assistance made your experience smooth and enjoyable. We're also glad the car and driver arrangements kept you comfortable and safe. Thank you for your high recommendation.

Excellent way to see the sights.
Summer School holidays is not the time to take in the sights. Extremely crowded everywhere we went. Having said that, it was still an enjoyable experience. Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square all very crowded but our guide was very good and steered us around the really crowded parts. Only downside was the hotel. Not a 5 star as advertised, more a 3-4 but still comfortable. Very nice hotel in Xi'an 5 star. Terracotta warrior site will take your breath away. Awesome. Great side trips. Chengdu to see the pandas. Hotel was fine in central location. I have never seen queues like we waited in to see the pandas, who don't come out when it's too hot, and it was 40 degrees when we visited. Although they were kept indoors because of the heat we were able to view and appreciate these beautiful animals. Great visit to local tea houses and market afterwards. All the guides, particularly Lilly in Xian and Clare in Chengdu were knowledgeable and friendly. Make up of group was good (12 in total). Would recommend the tour wholeheartedly and would not advise anyone who doesn't speak Chinese to go it alone.
Response from the operator: Dear Clare H, It is a pleasure to read this lovely review regarding your China tour in Beijing, Xi'an and Chengdu. From your words we learn that you enjoyed the experience in visiting these must-see attractions in each city with our guides' company. Besides, we feel happy that you were satisfied with the hotels, guides and our arrangements. Thank you for your wholehearted recommendation and wish we will get another chance to serve you soon. Best regards!

Sara was the best. She was very knowledgeable of all the stops on our tour. Also, very down to earth and a pleasure to be with. Over all the complete tour was a big success. We enjoyed every minute .

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities cost?

Is Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities?
+

Is Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 336-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 336-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Family Tour to see Pandas and China's Golden Cities start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
