A great way to see two beautiful sites

I really wanted to go to the Eagle's Nest and to Salzburg, but we only had one day. This was the way to go. The driver picked us up at our hotel in Munich. He was so nice and was completely accommodating to our schedule. The company was also great in letting us know how and where to prepurchase bus tickets to the Eagle's Nest. This was important in making our schedule work. The driver then took us to Salzburg where we set our own schedule. There was no pressure to meet at any specific time; however, I did want to be respectful of his time. He gave us his number and told us to call him when we had finished sightseeing.

Response from the operator: Hello, Benjamin! Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad to hear that your trip to the Eagle’s Nest and Salzburg went smoothly, and that our driver was accommodating to your schedule. It’s wonderful that our team could assist with the prepurchase of bus tickets, making everything easier for your day. We love that you enjoyed the flexibility to explore Salzburg at your own pace. We hope to have the opportunity to drive you on another adventure soon!

    „Hired Driver“

This was over $1.000 for a driver. He was fine. Friendly and professional. But it was literally just for the ride. A rental car would have been far less. One would have expected a sort of guide with interesting facts and whatnot for that price.

Response from the operator: Hello Brian! Thank you for your feedback, which we truly appreciate. We’re sorry to hear that your expectations weren’t fully met, and we'd like to take this opportunity to clarify what our service includes and how we strive to provide the best possible experience for each customer. When we mention a "guided tour" as part of our service, we mean to emphasize the convenience and peace of mind that comes with your journey. While our drivers aren’t licensed tour guides, they are exceptionally knowledgeable about the local area, allowing them to offer much more than just a simple ride. Our drivers don’t just take you from one place to another—they stop at the most beautiful and interesting locations, recommend what to see and do, and provide insightful information about the area. They speak fluent English and are happy to share fascinating facts, show you hidden gems that you might not find on your own, and ensure that you return home comfortably. This personalized approach and attention to detail are things that other services, like Uber, simply don’t offer. Regarding the price, we understand that it may seem high. The cost is determined by various factors, including fees and taxes, which are beyond our control. However, we always encourage our drivers to go above and beyond to create a memorable day full of wonderful experiences for our customers. Please know that your feedback is very important to us, and we will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to offer you an even better experience in the future. Best regards, Jan

    The most Unforgettable Day

I highly recommend this experience. It's expensive, but worth every penny. We had the most unforgettable day. Our driver was prompt, professional and friendly. We will be doing this again in the future.

Response from the operator: Hello! We're thrilled to hear that you had an unforgettable day and found the experience worth every penny. Your kind words about our driver's promptness, professionalism, and friendliness mean a lot to us. It will be our pleasure to assist you in your next European journey.

    An unexpected trip!

It was a last-minute decision to visit Eagle's Nest. All group tours were full, so we ended up taking a private day trip, and I'm glad that we did! Our first stop was Eagle's Nest. We booked a 10:35 bus up and a 1:05 bus down. We completed the tour early and took the 12:35 bus down. Since it was a private trip, we left the place earlier for our next destination, Königssee lake. At Königssee lake, we mistakenly booked a 2-hour boat ride instead of a 1-hour boat ride. I'm glad we made that mistake because the extended ride took us to the nicest part of Königssee. Again, being a private trip, our driver, Filip, just waited patiently for us. We didn't really visit Salzburg town. Instead, while on the boat, we learned from another tourist about a nice beer garden in Salzburg, Augustinerbräu Kloster Mülln. So we went there for a nice meal and, of course, beer!

Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience. It was our pleasure assist you with this day trip. We are glad you enjoyed it and got to see what you wanted. We appreciate your kind words on our driver's work. We always focus on helping travelers have an amazing experience. We would love to assist you again with any other transfer or day trip.

Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Eagle's Nest & Salzburg Day Trip from Munich start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
