    2. Irschenberg

Soon, we will reach Mount Irschenberg, the most stunning viewpoint you can experience from a German highway. This motorway route was constructed in the mid-1930s as a "panoramic motorway." These now unconventional paths were part of National Socialist propaganda: the beauty of the landscape was exploited by intentionally presenting it as a symbol of the "German Homeland."

    3. Chiemsee

A short time later, after another breathtaking view, we arrive at the largest lake in Bavaria, Lake Chiemsee.

While relaxing on the lake you will learn interesting background knowledge about the place and the surrounding region. Our boat will bring us to the famous St. Bartholomew's Island. There we will discover the historical St. Bartholomew's church, the beautiful surrounding area and stop for a delicious Bavarian lunch in a typical beer garden.

    6. Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg

After exploring Obersalzberg, we will stop at the "World War II Memorial and Educational Center" for an audio guided tour through the exhibition. The Dokumentation Obersalzberg is a museum in the Obersalzberg resort near Berchtesgaden, providing information on the use of the mountainside retreat by Nazi leaders, especially Adolf Hitler who regularly spent time in this area beginning in 1928. The museum was opened in 1999, and by 2007 had been visited by more than one million people.

    7. The darkest chapter of Berchtesgaden's history occurred on the Obersalzberg, known as "Hitler's Alpine Fortress." This plateau, located below the "Eagle's Nest" at a height of 1,000 meters (3,200 feet), was largely seized by Hitler and his entourage and designated as the "Führersperrgebiet" (Leader's Restricted Area) starting in 1933. On April 25, 1945, approximately 1,300 bombs destroyed nearly the entire area, with the "Eagle's Nest" (Kehlsteinhaus) and a few other buildings being spared. In 1952, the ruins of most bombed-out buildings were either demolished or blown up, though some were rebuilt, such as the Hotel Türken. I would be happy to show you the remaining sites, including the locations of Hermann Göring's and Martin Bormann's houses, as well as Hitler's 'Berghof' and much more.

A wonderful 2 days in Bavaria

We were treated as VIPs by Sepp from beginning to end. We went to Lake Koningsee and Eagle’s nest on the first day as the weather was great. We went to Neuchwanstein and Linderhof the second day. Nothing was too much trouble and we had lovely lunches, drinks and pastries provided and a very comfortable luxury minivan. Sepp altered the itinerary to allow us to visit other towns as well. He was so much fun throughout, took amazing pictures of us throughout and we had a fantastic time. Could not have been better.

Book this tour with Sepp! 5 star! Great at engaging teens and well travelled adults!

Look no further! Book this tour with your local tour guide! My uni and teenage boys loved it. He engaged well 1:1 to intrigue them on German autos, autobahn fun facts and our tour history during the road trips between each site. My husband and I could just relax with fab snacks and beverages with all transportation and tour details smoothly coordinated! So easy to communicate with him before the tour and during. So happy with the first we booked a second for the same week! Five star experience! #FanOfSepp

    Life time memories

Sepp the Bavarian guide was simply the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and he truly looked after us. We booked three excursions with Seth, the Bavarian guide. Each was a custom excursion created by Sepp. The memories we created with Sepp will last us a lifetime. I would recommend Sepp to anyone who wants to experience Bavaria in a truly one of a kind experience.

    Above and Beyond

We have been on many guided tours over the years, but have never encountered a guide with such a degree of thoughtfulness, preparedness, and attention to detail as we did with Sepp. From pick to drop off, we were spoiled with luxury transport, snacks, food, drinks and fascinating conversation. Each destination on the tour was though out, and we'll worth every second we spent there. We cannot recommend Sepp enough. Bob and Renee Martin

Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $899 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Eagles Nest, Third Reich & Lake Königssee Tour with Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
