Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
This park was created for the refugees who fled North Korea during the Korean War. You'll also see the "Bridge of Freedom," temporarily constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1953 to release 12,773 S Korean prisoners of war after the war ended. Moreover, you can witness the destroyed railway bridge and the railway leading to North Korea. This path may also be the route Jun, your guide, will take back to his hometown once the Korean Peninsula is unified

Cannot recommend this tour highly enough!
This tour was absolutely incredible. We spent quite a while considering possible tour options before booking this one, and we are so happy we had the opportunity to meet Jun and go on this tour with him. He picked us up at our hotel and took us by car to a North Korean restaurant in Paju, followed by the Odusan Unification Tower (which features an exhibit focused largely on South Korean visitors rather than foreign tourists, and views across the river to North Korea - the fixed observatory binoculars/telescopes were actually quite good, though having our own binoculars would have been even more interesting) and Imjingak Park (where the locomotive and the Freedom Bridge are). Jun has a unique perspective as someone who escaped from North Korea, and he has an extremely thoughtful take on the history of the Korean conflict, unification, and current-day tourism at the DMZ. When you take this tour, you get actual insights, not the noisy tourist schtick. From the Odusan Tower, you can also see into North Korea, which is not possible from the more popular tourist areas of the DMZ. We don’t feel like we missed out on anything by not taking the usual tour (for example, Jun doesn’t go to the Third Tunnel because it requires getting on a large bus, and he focuses on the view from Odusan Tower and sharing his own story). We feel very lucky to have met this exceptional young man and highly, highly recommend this tour.

The authentic North-Korean life and DMZ tour
The best tour I have been! Tourguide Jun was excellent! Being from the North-Korea he was able to give a deep overview about the life there. He also told about how he managed to escape. It was very inspirational and thoughts provoking tour! Plus I could see the different areas of DMZ and try out authentic North-Korean meal. The highlight of my trip in Korea! Totally recommending!
