Private Soul Food Tour with Giwook
A fantastic experience. Giwook was an exceptional guide and provided great insight into Korean food culture both traditional and modern and also very importantly made it engaging and fun for our 8 year old daughter - she loved it and considers it one of the highlights of our 2 week Korean trip. Thank you Giwook!
Response from the operator: Thank you for spending the day with us. The food may bring guests together, but the neighborhoods and conversations help make the experience complete. We’re glad you discovered them with Secret Food Tours!

Amazing Food Tour with Youla
Youla was amazing! She took our group through Gwangjang Market and we got to try so many amazing local foods. Youla struck a perfect balance of providing enough information, cultural practices, and history without spending too much time on it. She was also receptive to our requests and made navigating dietary restrictions easy. She also ended by giving us recommendations of where to go or eat and cosmetic recommendations of what to buy at Olive Young. We had so much fun with Youla, a highlight of the trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your 5-star feedback! Knowing the experience felt memorable from beginning to end means a lot to our team. We’d be happy to host you again on Secret Food Tours.

New to Seoul and hungry!
Youle was just great-we were late(thank Naver for that) not knowing that we were her entire group and she was still very cheery and accommodating. We had stops not just for cooked foods, but markets and the culture of the neighborhood. She also texted us great links for the rest if our trip! She’s informative and enjoys this work. Highly recommended❤️
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share this. It’s always wonderful to know when the mix of tastings and insights helps guests see the city in a new way. Secret Food Tours looks forward to your next visit!

A well rounded Korean street food tour!
What a fun way exploring Korean street food with a local guide. My girlfriend and I wanted to checkout the street food scene but didn't know where to start. Our guide Alex really took the time in sharing the background of each meal and bringing us a variety of Korean cuisine. We were plenty full by the end. Afternoon tea helped alot. We have been fortunate with all the guides we have booked. Thank you Alex for making it a memorable trip!
Response from the operator: We’re glad the tastings and stories came together to create such a positive memory for you. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Secret Food Tours in more than 100 cities has plenty more waiting!

A pleasant few hours
The walking route was great but the market food very average. Alex was a great guide, fun and happy to answer all our questions plus giving us plenty of information on Korean cuisine. It was nice to pass through different areas but the food at the market was a bit disappointing . Honestly most stalls are selling the same so there is no need for a food tour. Just take yourself to the market and pick whatever you fancy. Afterwards we did visit a great bakery and lovely tea house which were for me the highlights . Thank you Alex for doing your best to keep us entertained
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience on our Seoul Private Walking Food Tour. We're truly glad to hear you enjoyed exploring the city with Alex. He’s passionate about Korean food and culture, and we're pleased his energy, knowledge, and openness to questions stood out during your tour. Walking through the varied neighborhoods and uncovering local gems is a big part of what makes this experience special, so it's great to know you appreciated that aspect. Regarding the market portion — while it's true that many stalls might appear to sell similar fare, our goal is to offer context and insight that goes beyond just sampling. Many of our guests have told us that having a local guide really helped them understand what they were eating, learn about ingredients and preparation styles, and confidently try things they might otherwise have overlooked. We understand, though, that expectations can vary, and your feedback is valuable in helping us refine our approach. Thank you again for joining us and for acknowledging Alex’s efforts. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Seoul and that you’ll think of us again for another food adventure in one of our many other cities around the world!

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seoul.
How much does Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings cost?
+
Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seoul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seoul is not rushed.
Is Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Seoul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seoul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seoul and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Downtown Seoul Food & Market Tour with 8+ Tastings start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seoul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seoul?
+
On Outty we rank every Seoul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include DMZ Tour: Defector Q&A, Tunnel & Suspension Bridge /Hotel pick up, Best DMZ Tour Seoul: Defector Q&A, 3rd Tunnel & Suspension Bridge, 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best: DMZ Tour from Seoul. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seoul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seoul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
