    So worth it

Our experience traveling to and from Delphi along with lunch and painting was incredibly valuable! We were able to engage in all kinds of discussions about Greece, get the personal opinions/experiences of our driver and artist and see the mountains of Greece. We had an incredible guide at Delphi and a fantastic lunch. It was a long day but so worth it!

    Three generations loved Delphi

I traveled with my daughter and granddaughter last month. One of the highpoints of our visit to Athens was the all day private tour to Delphi. All the details of the reservation and trip were covered efficiently by Mariliza during the planning process. The actual trip was flawless and perfect for a ten year old who loves anything and everything about Greek mythology. The description of the Divine Delphi day fit our needs perfectly and the focus on a child was very important to us. Our driver Vasilis was punctual when he picked us up at 8:00am in a spacious MB van that was outfitted with a basket of snacks and drinks. Vasilis shared information about a variety of topics as we drove for 2.5 hours to Delphi with a stop for a Greek turnover snack and bathroom break. When we arrived at Delphi Vasilis escorted us to our private guide George who first spent about an hour in the museum covering the highlights of the collection and framing his narrative to suit a serious ten year old. His explanations were spot on! After hitting the important exhibits we ventured outside and started the scenic walk up to the Temple of Apollo. He did not belabor minute topics but painted a picture of how the site became such an important part of ancient Greek history. I think my granddaughter was able to imagine how the ruins functioned 2500 years ago. After our time with George we met up wtih Vasilis who drove us to a nearby restaurant where he had made reservations for lunch at a corner table with a magnificent view of the valley below. Lunch was a leisure break and about 90 minutes later Vasilis picked us up for the final activity of our time in Delphi. We drove to a small park with an even better view of the valley below where we met Eleni who was the artist who would lead us through a painting activity. She we well prepared with all the necessary equipment and supplies. After a brief lesson on style and technique we each created a rough sketch of the scene. We worked at easels and with her minimal guidance we painted our version of scene below. Eleni noted differences in our interpretations and we painted for more than an hour. We also giggled and laughed as we enjoyed every minute. We signed our masterpieces and packed up for the return trip to Athens. Vasilis was an excellent driver and we arrived back at our apartment about 7:30pm. It was a very long day but we all enjoyed every aspect of the day. Everyone involved made sure my granddaughter was properly "entertained" and all logistics of the trip were perfect. It was an expensive activity but well worth the cost since the outcome was so positive.

Private Divine Delphi for Families: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Private Divine Delphi for Families cost?

    +

Prices start at $302 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Divine Delphi for Families take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Private Divine Delphi for Families worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Divine Delphi for Families?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Divine Delphi for Families suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Divine Delphi for Families?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Divine Delphi for Families start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
