With her breathtaking port, promenade with donkeys, cafes, tavernas, restaurants, bars, cocktail lounges and boutique hotels, Hydra, provides a refreshing visit for her guests! The air, refreshingly warm, with freshly baked pastries, carries the smell of the sea! Enjoy your espresso, frappé or cocktail and refresh yourself with a quick dip off the caldera.

ing borricos their natural means of transport, their great shipbuilding industry once

All the places in Greece have their charm, their colors between white and blue are an invitation to tour their countless islands including the tour of Hydra although its name leads to believe its abundance in this element is quite the opposite ,land of pirates....there is a bust of one that has history in Argentina...they sound Admiral Brown.

Response from the operator: ¡Muchas gracias por compartir su interesante comentario!

    The owner of the company,...

The owner of the company, George was amazing because we ended up not being able to do the full tour and he arranged for us to take the fast boat over to Hydra on our own. He had a car take us to the port and pick us up and arrange for our tickets on the boat. This was all very last minute and he couldn’t have been more accommodating. Thank you for providing an excellent experience!!! Highly recommend working with this company.

Response from the operator: Hi Christina! Thank you for your 5★ review! It was our pleasure to arrange everything smoothly for you, and we’re thrilled you had such a great experience. Warm regards, George Ancient Greece Tours & Transfers

    Better than expected

My tour with Adonis was phenomenal! I actually wanted to cancel the tour after I discovered that it would be rained out. However, Adonis put together an alternate tour experience that proved to be nothing short of amazing and saved my trip to Athens! I would highly recommend this tour company for your stay in Greece.

    Our Hydra Island experience

Nathan and I also booked the Hydra Island private excursion with Ancient Greece Tours. I have to say, we embarked on a truly magical journey. We began with a scenic drive to the port in the Peloponnese, where I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the breathtaking coastal views along the way. Our first stop was at the Isthmus Canal, a marvel of engineering that left me in awe. It was the perfect prelude to our island adventure. Then, we hopped on a ferry to Hydra Island, and that's where the real adventure began. No cars on the island, just donkeys strolling around and creating this super chill vibe. It was like stepping back in time. Our guide was awesome. He filled us in on all the island's history and culture stuff. Exploring the island's history and culture with our guide was enlightening. Lunch at a seaside taverna was a culinary delight. Fresh seafood and local flavors left us craving for more. God, Greece has the best seafood. As the day unfolded, we savored every moment on Hydra. From donkeys strolling the streets to the serene waterfront, the island's beauty was a sight to behold. Ancient Greece Tours created an unforgettable experience that I'll cherish forever. If you seek a day of scenic wonders and historical charm, we highly recommend this tour. Joy & Nathan

    Day Trip to Hydra

Manos was a great tour guide and driver. The day was rainy but he told us all about the interesting history of the Corinth Canal and Hydra. What a fabulous experience.

Private Excursion to Hydra Island: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Private Excursion to Hydra Island cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Excursion to Hydra Island take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Private Excursion to Hydra Island worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Excursion to Hydra Island?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Excursion to Hydra Island suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Excursion to Hydra Island?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Excursion to Hydra Island start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
