Incredible crew - fantastic fishing for the family

Brilliant trip - crew were excellent and helped my 6 and 8 year old kids to catch some brilliant fish. As advised my wife and kids took an anti motion sickness tablet and they were fine. Thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone who would like to sample just how vibrant and full of life the Mexican carribean sea is! 10 / 10 - amazing - crew were superb and super patient with my wife and kids as it was their first time deep sea fishing.

    Not worth it.

Pretty much rode around in circles for 3 hours and didnt catch a single fish. The captain was on his phone most of the time. He didnt even attempt to make it fun in any way or explain anything just boring and a waste of money. Not to mention they charge $400 for this service online and if you walk up to the dock there are boats that only charge $100 if that.

Response from the operator: We would like to clarify several important details regarding this review. The excursion was scheduled as a four-hour fishing trip. Approximately two hours into the trip, the woman who made the booking began feeling dizzy and personally asked the captain to return to the dock. The trip was therefore ended early at her request and out of concern for her comfort and safety—not because the captain was unwilling or unable to continue fishing. The captain had planned to take the group bottom fishing, where guests typically catch fish, even if some are small. However, the guest’s dizziness prevented the crew from continuing with that portion of the trip. The statement that someone at the dock offered to take the guests fishing for $100 is also inaccurate. There was no one at the dock offering this service. Although the captain may have briefly used his phone, he was communicating with other local fishermen to determine where fish were being caught and improve the guests’ chances of having a successful trip.

Great hosts, fantastic views, awesome experience

A fantastic experience with Mauricio and Martine with good energy and laughs. They were very kind with us, being on our first fishing excursion, and showed us the how to fight when reeling in baracuda and how to properly send out lines for bottom fishing. A morning well spent and highly suggested!

    Great trip with Captain Mauricio!

Captain Mauricio and his mate Martin did a great job! They found a good spot for bottom fishing where we caught yellowtail snapper, Jack, and trigger fish. Then we trolled a bit and caught a huge barracuda. Our family had a fantastic time! They took care of every need, kept our lines in the water, well baited, and were very hospitable. Our 6 and 8 year old kept saying how fun the trip was and were kept busy catching (or at least landing) the fish they helped hook!

10/10 Fishing Experience – We’ll Definitely Be Back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely incredible experience fishing with Mauricio and Martin! From the moment we left the dock, they worked hard to make sure we had an amazing day. We caught a barracuda while trolling almost immediately, then spent the day catching a variety of fish, and ended by catching a beautiful snapper on a hand line —which I didn’t even know was a thing! Mauricio and Martin were knowledgeable, patient, and a lot of fun to spend the day with. You can tell they truly love what they do and want everyone on the boat to have a great experience. To top it all off, they recommended a local restaurant to cook our fresh catch, and it was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. If you’re looking for a fishing charter, I can’t recommend Team Mauricio enough. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be booking with them again on our next trip! 🎣🐟

Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos cost?

    +

Prices start at $399 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Deep Sea Fishing Charter – Puerto Morelos start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
