Great service, awesome locations - highly recommend.

We thought this service was excellent... more flexibility to manage your timing, without the rush rush rush to get back to the bus. Our driver was fantastic, really friendly and the car was new, clean and we felt very safe. Because of the Xmas timing the castle at Harburg was closed for the winter (which we knew prior to going thanks to the advice from the tour operator to check availability), but the gates where open and we were still able to have a good look around as well. Dinkelsbuhl and Rothenburg were amazing - definitely worth the trip.

Response from the operator: Dear Jessica. Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the flexibility of the service and felt comfortable and safe with our driver. Even though Harburg Castle was closed, we’re glad you could still explore the area, and it’s great to know that Dinkelsbühl and Rothenburg made the trip worthwhile. We truly appreciate you traveling with us and hope to welcome you again in the future

Awesome Day with Old Towns of Germany!

What an incredible day! Our English speaking driver Martin was fabulous!! While it was a very long day, each of the 3 stops--in perfect order, led to each one being better than the next. The tour of the Castle was, although the guide was not in English it was still worth seeing and thankfully our timing was perfect as the tour is on the hours. Dinkelbuhl was charming and the perfect location to enjoy lunch. The final stop, Rothenburg, was magnificent! You must see the Christmas shop! VIATOR is A++

Response from the operator: Hello, Lynda. Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We’re delighted to hear Martin made the day special and that the timing of each stop worked out so well. Dinkelsbühl and Rothenburg are real treasures—we’re thrilled you enjoyed them. Your kind words mean a lot!

Country drive to the Middle Ages

If you only have a day from Munich to see a couple of the top sites on the Romantic Road, this is a good option. It’s a long drive through picturesque farm country, but Martin was an excellent driver; the car was clean, quiet and comfortable for two; and his English was fine. He’s not a tour guide, but he directs you to the local tourism office for all the info you need. (He’s also happy to discuss anything NBA.) I suggest the route we took: Dinkelsbuehl first, Rothenburg second, and Harburg as a last option if you have the stamina (we could have skipped it).

Response from the operator: Hi, Thomas! Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review! We’re glad you enjoyed your Romantic Road day trip and that Martin made the long drive comfortable, smooth, and enjoyable. It’s great to hear you appreciated his professionalism, clean and quiet car, and even his NBA conversations along the way! Your suggested route—Dinkelsbuhl first, Rothenburg second, and Harburg as an optional stop—is a fantastic tip for future travelers. We appreciate you taking the time to share it and hope to see you again for another journey!

Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg cost?

    +

Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip Munich to Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
