Uber better.
The castle was great. That experience, I would never downplay it. However, when I booked this, I was told private tour meant I would get details of the town details of things. And I didn't get that, I had a pleasant driver. I can never say anything bad against him. He was awesome. But essentially, it was just like an Uber driver, and for that I could have paid an Uber driver to take me there. And back and paid half that price, I also ended up buying my own ticket. Because the company never emailed me. Although they sent me proof they emailed me, they told me that they could see I did not open it. I said, well, if you saw that, I did not open it, then that proves there was an issue with me, not getting the email. And that I have proof I didn't get the ticket when I have my own receipt for buying it. At the castle, I don't know if they're going to refund my money or not. But that'll be my dispute between me them and the credit card. But they clearly did state in an email to me, they saw that I did not open the email, so they already admitted a mission that they knew I did not get the email. Then, I was told they would take me to a town for Christmas village market. A market is something outside. I was not taken there. I was taken to a town where they had shops like any other town where you walk into the shops. The shops were not on the outside like a Christmas market. So that was disappointing, I was not even there. 20 minutes. I thought it was great that the driver did take me to a waterfall to show me that like I said, I paid double when in fact, I could have just ubered this and I did check out what the cost of Uber was because I was gonna do it that way, but I was informed that my driver would be informative on information. I don't blame him. I blame your site because maybe you don't know things I'm gonna see how the rest of my trip goes to see if you guys fail me or if it's a different people that you're with that fail.Because it's your recommendations that do it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We would like to clearly clarify several important points, as some statements in the review relate to matters outside the scope of the booked service. First, regarding the castle tickets: Tickets are not included in this experience, as clearly stated in the product description. The delivery, opening, or acknowledgment of ticket-related emails is not part of our transfer service and is not our responsibility. Despite this, our team voluntarily assisted you personally, reviewed the situation with you, and helped resolve the ticket issue so that no additional tickets were ultimately required. This support was provided as a courtesy, well beyond what the booked service includes, and should not be interpreted as a service failure. Regarding the experience itself: This product is a private day trip with a local English-speaking driver, not a guided tour with a licensed tour guide. This distinction is clearly stated in the listing. The driver’s role is transportation, flexibility, and local assistance — not professional guiding. The comparison with Uber is not relevant. Uber does not offer a full-day private driver, waiting time at attractions, itinerary flexibility, or personal assistance before and during the trip. A comparable private hire would typically cost more, not less. The service provided fully matched the product description and inclusions. Disappointment based on expectations that fall outside of what was booked does not indicate a failure to deliver the advertised service.

Excellent driver but the other who was the guide was awful
The private driver Alex Jakob was excellent. Very helpful and professional. However the guide to go to the castle when we arrived and who took us up to the castle who did not give any interesting explanation was the worst one.
Response from the operator: Dear Debora. Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that our private driver, Alex Jakob, provided you with excellent service and was both helpful and professional. We strive to train our drivers to deliver the best possible service, but we understand that experiences with guides can vary. Unfortunately, we have limited control over the guides at the castle. However, we take your feedback seriously and will work to improve our partnerships with local guides to enhance the overall experience. Thank you again for your review, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future. Best regards, Jan

An easy transfer to a great Castle!
The transfer to and from the Neuschwanstein area worked well. Pickup at both ends was on time and the driving was safe and reliable. The normal tour includes four hours at the destination. I wanted an extra two hours, which they charge at 40 Euros an hour, which seemed reasonable. Neuschwanstein itself is wonderful and very much worth a visit! I spent extra time to visit the Museum of the Bavarian Kings and wander around the town.
Response from the operator: Hello, Graham! We appreciate your comments. It's good to know you had a fantastic experience and that you got to see everything that you wanted. We will be glad to see you in your next European adventure.

We reserved a private driver to take us to Neuschwanstein. We did this with less than 24 hours notice. Our driver, Ahmed, was professional and engaged. Thank you!

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip: Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle, Local driver?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
