Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley - Thanks Said

Our driver to the start of the valley, Said, was extremely knowledgeable and interesting on the way to the valley. Picked us promptly right at our raid in a very good vehicle. Once at the valley he handed us over to our guide, Omar, with detailed instructions - then met us on the way back to take us for lunch. A really great day out and thanks to Said for being so polite and friendly.

Amazing trip to Ourika Valley.

A memorable trip to the Ourika Valley and the Waterfalls. Our driver Said made our experience very enjoyable. Said has a great sense of humour which made the travelling fun but also he is knowlegeable and courteous. We stopped at various places along the route to enable opportunities for photos of the amazing scenery. It was a beautiful bright sunny day and the sun shone on the snow capped mountains..just spectacular. Although I didnt participate..my daughter climbed with the experienced guide to the waterfalls. Its a challenging climb but well worth the effort as the outcome is spectacular. We have some beautiful memorable photos of the experience. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch by the waterside before returning back to the bustle of the Medina. Thank you Said for making our trip so happy and taking such good care of us along the way.

Not worth it!

The private tour was okay but for the price of this private tour, it wasn’t really worth it. I thought we would get a more comfortable small car but the driver came with a big 8-seater van for the two of us. Since it was “private”, I thought we got to dictate where we went but we had to still go to a traditional home and two cooperatives, taking time away from the mountain hike. The mountain guide was completely unnecessary. We could easily have done the hike on our own, especially the part we covered on this tour. There were a ton of people on the hike so it wasn’t like you would get lost. Also, the guide did not take us up to the 7 water falls, just the first big water fall about 40 min up, because there wasn’t enough time. Another weird thing was the tour guide seemed upset when we wanted to eat at a different restaurant more upstream on the riverside as it wasn’t so busy with guests from all the different tours. Overall, I don’t recommend this. Just buy a ride up to Setti Fatma and explore on your own for a small fraction of this private tour. Unless of course you like seeing a traditional home and cooperatives.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our private tours are designed to provide a comfortable and safe journey, which is why we usually use spacious vehicles, even for small groups. The visit to a traditional home and local cooperatives is part of the cultural experience we offer to our guests, but we understand that some travelers may prefer to spend more time hiking. Regarding the mountain guide, local guides are included to ensure safety and to support the local community. We are sorry if you felt this was unnecessary during your visit. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our services for future guests.

Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley cost?

+

Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 97 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley?

+

Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private day trip from Marrakech to Ourika valley start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
