Amazing Amalfi Coast Experience with the Legendary Francesco

My wife and I decided that our biggest vacation investment on the Amalfi Coast would be a one-day private boat cruise with Exclusive Cruises. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! We cannot say enough about how incredible our experience was. First off, the communication in booking this was seamless. I was in regular contact with Flora and Valeria via email and WhatsApp when planning the day, as well as right before the date of sailing. So communication was excellent. They also wanted to know my goals (which was mainly photography and "beating the crowd"), so they suggested we even start an hour earlier to give us a better experience. On the day of the sailing, we were met promptly on the dock in Positano by our Commander, Mr. Francesco! He was an absolutely AMAZING host for the day. Francesco is a local and has spent most of his life on the Amalfi Coast and his whole life "at sea". Francesco provided so many pearls all along the coast as we worked from Positano East along the shore. He also provided some Prosecco and fresh fruits along our journey. Nice touch. We saw many caves, learned lots of history, and had so many laughs I could never count them all. Francesco is HILARIOUS! He also had an AMAZING playlist on the stereo system that provided songs we could all sing along to. We had SO MUCH FUN and it was definitely unforgettable. This was easily one of our top vacation memories of our lives and we have traveled to almost 60 countries. Lastly, Francesco booked us a reservation for lunch at La Tonnarella. It was absolutely incredible. I would go again and again and again. It was so good it was featured in a New York Times reel just a few days after we dined there. So this was another great element to the day. We very highly recommend you choose Exclusive Cruises for an amazing day on the Amalfi Coast! Ask for Francesco and hopefully he will be available. He is legendary! Have fun and tell them HELLO from us!

Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you so much for your wonderful words! We are truly happy that your day with us became such a special memory of your trip. Francesco will be thrilled to read your review! It was a pleasure having you on board, and we hope to welcome you again on the Amalfi Coast in the future. Grazie mille from all the Exclusive Cruises team!

The best tour to take in all of the sights of the Amalfi Coast.

This day was exceptional from beginning to end. Our Captain, Francesco called to ensure our meeting point and was timely. He was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging for the entire 6 hour tour of the coast. He shared the history and took us to places that were unique and breathtaking. The tour was worth every penny. It was the absolutely best way to experience the Amalfi Coast.

    Amalfi Coast tour

Great experience. Great Captain. Champaign was a very nice touch. Captain did a good job telling us about what we were looking at. And the place he took us for lunch was magnificent. The only thing needed as an older couple was a couple of extra restroom breaks. But overall great tour.

    THE BEST DAY EVER

We had the best time ever! Our driver Umberto was absolutely perfect, he showed us the best swimming spots, took photos, prepared us drinks, and told us fun facts! He was an absolute pleasure to meet and spend the day with. The boat was so comfortable and nice. Will be booking again when I come back!

Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.

How much does Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast cost?

    +

Prices start at $890 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.

Is Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 74 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast?

    +

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip Around Positano and the Amalfi Coast start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Positano?

    +

On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Positano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Positano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
