    About this experience

Visiting the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx is a must-do when you're in Egypt, but it's frustrating to deal with all of the touts that line up on the way there. The best solution is to book a private tour guide who can show you around without any hassle or unwanted sales pitches. This tour gives an excellent opportunity to explore 3 main eras of Egyptian history as you will explore the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx (ancient Egyptian history), the Hanging Church in Coptic Old Cairo (Christian history) and the Alabaster Mosque in the Citadel (Islamic history). You'll have plenty of time at each site so that you can take your own photos, talk with local people, shop for souvenirs and eat lunch while enjoying great views from across pyramids plateau. Your day trip ends back at your hotel whereupon our driver will drop you off after dropping off other passengers at their hotels/host

    Ashraf is amazing!

Ashraf picked us up at the hotel 15 mins late, which was so amazing. I wanted to check into my flight the next day and he patiently waited until the check in was open. We started the day at the hanging church, he brought us cold water and walked around. At every attraction there was lots of information but also a bit of time to spend alone checking it out. We then went to the pyramids. It was very hot and he waited with an umbrella after advising against the buying of things from the locals. Great advice as we were bombarded the moment we left the car. He had a lot of local knowledge and good tips on great photos. He's also vey funny and we spent the day laughing and joking! Lunch was great. We were given the option of chicken and kebabs, or street food. We choose the local eatery, and it was the BEST shwarma I've ever had! He eat with us for awhile and then gave us some time to enjoy the rest of our meal. That was one of the most amazing things about him. He reads his audience so well. We had him within a moments notice, but it was never intrusive, and my partner and I felt like we had some time to ourselves too. Such a fantastic quality in a guide. The museum was last. We were both very hot and tired, and he showed us the high lights, and again, could see that we were both needing a break. There is nothing I would say would improve the experience, he was one of the best guides I have ever come across. As a professional tourist that has taken hundreds of tours, and visited 64 countries, I would ask anyone to look up Ashraf if they come to Cairo. I would spend an entire week touring with him if we had the time!

An absolutely perfect day with our guide, Ashraf

We started at 8 am and went straight to the Giza Pyramids. Since this was just the two of us with a private guide, Ashraf, it turned out to be a very flexible and wonderful tour. We shopped at 2 fabulous places for jewelry and papyrus and then had a lovely lunch. We then saw Old Cairo and the Bazaar. The Tree of Life tour company is first rate. We highly recommend it!

Probably the best guide to discover the beauties of Cairo

We booked a private tour for two families to visit the Pyramids, Citadel and the Cairo Museum. We really had a great time and Ashraf, our guide, made our day very special. We were traveling with 5 small children what requires a bit of extra time and patience and we got both. Ashraf took very good care of us, driving us through Cairo, its culture, and of course the history of the places we visited. He was very kind and thorough, taking the time to explain and reply to all of our questions in a way that kept us captive of the amazing things we were seeing. Definitively it was a great experience and he was also very nice with the kids, always patient and understanding... as Ashraf himself would say, that's normal when you are with the best guide in the world :-) ! (lol)

Amazing Tour of Pyramids and Cairo

We had a Marvelous time on this full day tour!! Our tour guide was Achraf and he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time touring the Pyramids. there are good guides in egypt, but no one can be better than Achraf. He was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to provide an immense amount of history in a fun and interesting way, Definitely would recommend them to anyone visiting Egypt. Ask for Achraf to be your guide. You will not be disappointed. Also, I had to mention this, our driver Hazem was a great driver, In Egypt driving is a difficult task, however with Hazem it was a smooth journey. After finishing our journey visiting the pryramids and Cairos Old town, we went on a dinner cruise, where our guide was Ahmed, he was prompt, kind, knowledgeable very nice guy that made our experience on board fantastic. it was an amazing journey!!

Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.

How much does Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church cost?

    +

Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church take?

    +

Plan for about 0.1 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.

Is Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 0.1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Tour of the Giza Pyramids Alabaster Mosque and Hanging Church start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cairo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
