    Coptic Cairo Tour with Marsil

We so enjoyed Marsil as our guide to the pyramids that we requested her for the Coptic Cairo tour of all the famed churches in Cairo. Private tour with pick up and drop off at our hotel. Once again on time, organised and very enthusiastic and knowledgable.

Best Christian History in Cairo Tour!

I am so happy with my experience! Bisho arrived promptly at the hotel and the driver to start the day. We took a tour of the old Coptic Cairo and the surrounding Churches. I wanted a tour explaining the Christian history involving the Holy Family in Egypt and I got exactly that! I will definitely take another tour with this company and recommend for others to do the same!

Good guide but shorter than advertised and overpriced

We booked the 4-hour tour of Islamic and Coptic Cairo, with hotel pick-up & drop-off. Our guide, Yasser, was knowledgeable and informative. He started with a useful overview of the history of ancient Egypt. He was happy to answer our questions & share his knowledge with us. We were guided around the Citadel and Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha (Alabaster Mosque), then on to Coptic Cairo for a tour of the Hanging church and the Church of Abu Serga. The negatives: pick up at 10am. Our guide arrived on time but the driver was 25 minutes late while we waited on the side of the road. We were taken to the ‘papyrus institute’ - we knew this was a shop but accepted it and managed to keep the visit to less than 10 minutes. Next, our guide wanted to go to a jewelry store, an alabaster store, and some other stores. We asked to go directly to Coptic Cairo. The tour ended just before 1.30 pm - so a total of 3 hours (including 1.5-hour driving). On questioning, we were advised this was our fault for not going shopping. This was fairly disingenuous as we made it clear we were not there to shop. Also of note, we were told the Ben Ezra Synagogue was closed - we can find no evidence to confirm this. Finally, we paid an extra £30 for ‘tickets’ - the only ticket purchased was for the citadel costing 200 EGP (£7 each). All other places were free. In summary, Yasser was a friendly individual and a good guide with plenty of knowledge and we felt safe on the tour. But it was shorter than advertised and overpriced. If you only have a few hours in Cairo this tour might be worth considering, BUT don’t pay for the ticket (service). Or you could save your pennies and take an Uber!

Response from the operator: the tour is 4 hour take your time as you want , as you mention yasser the guide was good and explain everyting we mention 4 hour include pick up and drop off, but your hotel was in down town not in giza or aiprot area thats why there is no drive like other hotel , did any one doesnt give you enoght time , about driver we wil ltake reaction with him and penalty but if he delayed becasue unexpected traffic happened with school time be happy and enjoy

Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.

How much does Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue cost?

    +

Prices start at $13 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.

Is Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Tour Old Coptic Cairo with Orthodox Church and Synagogue start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cairo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
