Sarah Valentin was a very knowledgeable and accommodating guide. She is really passionate about the D-Day history and strategy and knew all the little details. I have mobility issues and in planning the itinerary she factored this in so that we could still maximize the sites. She also factored in the tides so that we could see Omaha Beach at low tide as well as the ceremony taking down the flag at the American cemetery at 4:00. We lucked out that we could see both. My husband is a WW2 nut and the two of them eagerly shared information. Highly recommend Sarah!

Exactly what we wanted! Very memorable day!
Every detail of our day was well planned and exactly what we wanted. Sarah customized our day by the tides to maximize what we could see at the beaches and was flexible with our stops based on what we were interested in. Our 21 year old daughter really enjoyed Sarah’s detailed historical knowledge, as did we. We are honored to spend our day seeing these important sites of world history.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Heather for taking the time to leave an excellent review of the visit I organized for you, your husband and your lovely, attentive daughter. I'm glad that, at the end of the day, I was able to give you as much detail as possible about D-Day and that you were able to appreciate the courage of these young soldiers who sacrificed themselves to liberate our countries and defend their homeland. In these troubled times, we must continue to honor these soldiers buried on our soil and so far from their families. We must ensure that our duty to remember lives on for future generations.

Exceptional experience
Seeing everything that we had read so much about was wonderful. Our guide Sarah was incredible! Her knowledge, explanations and all the visuals she provided were exceptional. We highly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Hello Sandra, Thank you for taking the time to leave an excellent comment about your appreciation of my work, which I always try to improve every day by keeping informed of book or film releases relating to the Second World War in general. I had an excellent day with you and I would have liked to go much deeper into certain aspects if we had had the opportunity to spend more time together. I wish you a happy end to your stay in France and hope you continue your journey in other parts of Europe. perhaps we'll meet again in Michigan, as it's a state that's on my bucket list. Take care. Sarah, your local Normandy guide.

Sara is the best guide for DDAY.
My husband had read a lot about DDay before we came. But seeing the beaches and landmarks is sobering. Plus Sara was a terrific guide as she knows the area and the history so well. Very knowledgeable. Don't skip it. We did full day tours and learned much.
Response from the operator: Dear Marcia, Dear Michael, I thank you very much for this wonderful rating. I'm happy to have been your guide during these 3 days to show you the 5 sectors of the Normandy landing beaches and typical normandy with its local inhabitants. You took the time to leave a comment on the quality of my work and i thank you warmly. I hope to see you again next time to show you the north of france with the battlefields of the first and second world wars. have a great stay in Honfleur where you can live the french way of life for a good 3 weeks. Fondly Sarah

So much packed into our day!!!
Sarah was a fantastic tour guide. Our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) were able to see the American Cemetery, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and Utah Brach, with a fantastic lunch thrown in. We never would have made it to all those sights on our own. Our whole party learned so much. And enjoyed getting to know Sarah's personal connection to French History. Highly Recommend!
Response from the operator: Dear Aimee, , Thank you so much for this great review about my work! I'm so glad you had a lovely day with me and you enjoyed a lot your lunch in that special place! Your family gave me the gift of so many good feelings and your children were fantastic! Thank you for your feedback. It's the best reward a guide can receive! Fondly, Sarah

Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bayeux.
How much does Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen cost?
+
Prices start at $1007 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bayeux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bayeux is not rushed.
Is Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bayeux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bayeux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bayeux and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private D-Day Landing Beaches - Bayeux or Caen start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bayeux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bayeux?
+
On Outty we rank every Bayeux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Omaha and Utah beaches, Normandy American D-Day Experience - Group tour from Bayeux, Omaha Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bayeux?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bayeux?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
