    Lunch in Cava

We had a great time. Unfortunately, this could not possibly have been a cooking/learning session and a meal in the short time available (three hours). We understand that. We had several things pre-prepared for us: freshly made tomato sauce from scratch, which we make all of the time ourselves so no big deal, and a wonderful chocolate pudding/mousse-like dessert with ladyfingers soaked in rum around in a the perimeter in a pie pan. The antipasto was incredibly good. She combined prosciutto with juicy, fresh figs picked from her garden. Also provided was an assortment of cheeses. She made gnocchi from scratch. Since we make pasta all the time ourselves, we did not really need to lend a hand. They provided an apéritif, a nice red wine, a nice white wine and grappa, We really enjoyed the company and the meal. They were wonderful people. Their home was beautiful and their garden was spectacular. We really enjoyed it, and they invited us back for dinner. The next time we come to Cava. He drove us home.

    Enjoyable lunch

I enjoyed the experience. I wouldn't really call it a cooking class. It was more like 2 friends cooking a meal together. One doing far more than the other.

An authentic cooking class giving a taste of true southern Italy

We got to the spot then took a ride to the home where we would be cooking. The family we cooked with was a local family who we communicated with through google translate, giving an extremely authentic feel. We then cooked gnocchi and tiramisu from scratch. While we waited for our dishes to settle, we had an aperitif in the family’s beautiful garden sharing some wine, cheese, eggplant parmigiana, and salami. After that we went inside to have our meal accompanied by some local Italian whiskey and limoncello. Our host then took us to the bus station and bought our bus ticket. It was ana amazing experience and the hosts were great.

Best Cooking Class I’ve ever taken!!

Cesarine’s cooking class was the most memorable experience from my whole trip in Italy. Anna and Luigi really made us feel welcome and at home. At the beginning, me and my cousin didn’t have a way to get to Cava de Tirreni. I was so nervous we were not going to make it to the class, and Luigi (Anna’s husband) offered to pick us up and drive us to Cava de Tirreni and back to the hotel once the class was over. Luigi is a sweet man and will try his best to communicate in English so you don’t feel there’s a language barrier between you. We arrived at their gorgeous home that’s decorated with all kinds of beautiful ceramics. Anna showed us her garden and all the things harvested in it (lemons, mandarins, pears, kiwis). Anna irradiates so much light, peace, and excitement to teach you. She made us feel so comfortable while learning how to make gnocchi and tiramisu from scratch and using organic locally sourced ingredients! Everything was so fresh and DELICIOUS. I promised Anna and Luigi I will come back and bring more friends and family to their class, because it really touched my heart and made me eager to keep learning about Italian culture. 10/10 experience, if you are doubtful about booking this, DON’T BE, this family is AMAZING, they really made me feel I was in a Disney movie for a second because everything was so wonderful!!

Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salerno.

How much does Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni cost?

    +

Prices start at $172 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salerno usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salerno is not rushed.

Is Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salerno, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salerno can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salerno and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private cooking class with lunch or dinner in Cava De Tirreni start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salerno within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Salerno?

    +

On Outty we rank every Salerno experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Amalfi Coast Experience from Sorrento, Naples or Salerno, Small-Group Amalfi Coast Day Cruise from Positano, Amalfi Coast Boat tour Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salerno?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salerno?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
