    Buyer beware.

We used Cancun Sailing during our wedding week, and overall the catamaran experience itself was beautiful. We tipped the crew well because they were awesome. The crew onboard was great, the boat was fun, and up until the beach club situation, everything had been going smoothly. However, I do want to share our experience with the beach club add-on because it became a very stressful situation in the middle of what was supposed to be a special day with our family and friends. Ahead of time, we were told the beach club option was $25 per person and specifically asked if the menu we were being shown was the menu included with that price. We were told yes. Once our group of nearly 40 people arrived, everyone was seated and given menus, and people — including small children under 5 — had already started eating. Midway through the meal, the manager approached us and informed us that the pricing was actually à la carte and not included as we had understood. This created a very uncomfortable, awkward, and honestly embarrassing situation in front of all of our guests. Since we had children there and a large group gathered during our wedding week, we felt pressured to just pay the unexpected bill rather than cause a scene. What upset me most wasn’t necessarily the extra cost itself — it was the miscommunication and how it was handled after the fact. Cancun sailing blamed us, even though it was explained and presented to us in the beginning, it was included. We have this correspondence in what’s app and in emails. As someone planning events in another country, you rely heavily on vendors to communicate clearly and transparently. Honestly, I suspect even the beach club staff realized this situation had not been communicated properly because once the issue surfaced, they immediately tried to soften the situation by offering our group one hour of free bar service and a 10% discount. Unfortunately, even the “open bar” was extremely limited, as guests were only allowed well drinks. That reaction alone made it feel obvious that everyone understood this situation was going badly and that there had been a serious breakdown in communication somewhere along the way. The responsibility was continually shifted onto us as customers, even though we triple checked at the beginning of the meal on cost via WhatsApp, email and in person. We were repeatedly told this was somehow our misunderstanding, and at one point it was emphasized that the Rep at Cancun Sailings Rocio had “been doing this for 11 years,” implying the fault could not possibly be on their side. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional considering the very obvious communication gaps that occurred throughout the process. As the customer, we trusted their team to explain the pricing structure clearly or at least stick to what was presented to us in the beginning. Another thing to note: • the original employee handling our booking had left the company and the deposits I made with him were not properly maintained. Looking back, the entire situation at the beach club felt dishonest, scary and unfortunately that really changed how I feel about the experience overall and why the poor rating. We felt swindled and we brought a lot of loved ones with us. No one wants to be in that situation. Because of that, if I were planning excursions again, I would probably look into someone else instead. I just can’t get past what happened at the beach club. You want a company who takes care of you, a company you can trust and has your back.

Response from the operator: Dear: We are truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience experienced during your visit, and we understand how this situation may have caused disappointment. After carefully reviewing the follow-up provided by agent Rocío, as well as the information shared throughout the reservation process, we confirmed that you were informed in a timely manner about your visit to Zama Beach Club being scheduled under the Set Menu modality. Additionally, the available menu and its corresponding prices were shared with you in advance for your reference. Likewise, the charge related to the modification mentioned above was removed from the invoice sent to you. As part of our commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests, we also extended the courtesy of complimentary open bar service, along with an additional discount applied to your consumption. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving the experience we provide to our visitors.

Catamaran tour on a board of Ventus to Isla Mujeres

We just did our amazing tour to Isla Mujeres on a board of the Ventus catamaran ( that included snorkeling, open bar and a lunch on the island). We booked our trip through our hotel ( Bahia principe explore Coba). Our host uncle Bob was super engaging, hilarious and dedicated to his job! The crew members were fantastic as well! Uncle Bob is a professional diver and gave proper instructions on snorkeling and was leading and supporting all the swimmers in the water as well. He stepped off the boat on the island showing the restaurant, waiting for everyone and explaining everything to all the passengers. On our way back he gave the numbers of the shuttles and also went with us to the meeting’s point. We felt very secure with him! He really loves and is very dedicated to what he’s doing! On our way back we had a party on the board which was fantastic! People were really happy and enjoyed the dances! All the crew were engaging the people in dancing and everyone had a wonderful time! That’s the boat tour of a dream! Great thank you to the crew and especially to uncle Bob for organizing this special event on the board! It was great!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sailing with us! We are happy to have been part of your vacation. We want you to know that the captain, the crew, and the entire shore staff are encouraged by your kind words. Our goal is and always has been the satisfaction of all our visitors and we are delighted to know that we have achieved it. We look forward to seeing you aboard again!

    súper

Pedro and his crew made this catamaran experience absolutely unforgettable. From start to finish, everything was smooth, fun, and well-organized. They were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. The atmosphere they created was relaxed but still professional, and you could tell they genuinely care about their guests’ experience. The boat was great, the vibes were perfect, and the whole trip was 100% worth it. I would highly recommend booking with Pedro and his crew—you won’t regret it!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for letting us know your opinion! We are glad to know that our service met your expectations! It is very important for us to know that our visitors have a good time aboard our boats. We will make sure that your words reach our staff to keep them motivated and provide the quality service that distinguishes us.

Cancun Sailing is well worth the price

We went in this tour today and it was so much fun. The host Noah was incredible, funny amd got the crowd motivated for a fun time. We took pictures as a family on the boat. The snorkeling was a great time as well. We docked in Isla Mujeres, did some quick shopping then off for a buffet mea with drinks. We had about 2 hrs of free time after, we spent time in the beach and then rented a golf cart and drove to Punta Sur. Excellent trip and a very memorable day

Response from the operator: Thank you for sailing with us! We are happy to have been part of your vacation. Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp cost?

    +

Prices start at $2231 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp?

    +

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres | For up to 40 pp start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
