I booked this excursion a couple weeks before a 2 week trip with my mom and brother. Francesco was in contact and so helpful the entire time leading up to our trip, monitoring the weather to help us pick the ideal boating day, supplying water, refreshments (and a barf bag for me, that was unfortunately needed due to no fault of his own and every bit my ability to get sea sick) and taking us to the best spots. He even haggled on our behalf at the Blue Grotto to ensure others did not cut in line. He made lunch reservations for us on Capri and allowed us to go at our pace, really ensuring we had the day we wanted and would enjoy. We would 100% do this again and also recommend this to others.

Francesco is amazing!
Francesco went above and beyond to make sure our group had the most unforgettable experience. He provided everything we could need on the boat including drinks, towels, and even bait for fishing. He was even nice enough to set up an impromptu handline fishing experience and all of our group was able to catch tuna. Truly unforgettable and not to mention… Francesco is full of Italian charm and looks ;) book with him and you will have one of the best days of your life. P.S. we even saw dolphins!!!!

Best way to experience the coast!
This private boat tour with Francesco was hands down the BEST experience of our trip to Italy. Everything was absolutely beautiful — the views, the water, the scenery, the skipper — it honestly felt surreal. Such a relaxing and unforgettable way to experience the coast with family. The whole day exceeded our expectations, and we’re already talking about how much we miss it. Could not recommend this tour with Francesco enough! He is the best!!!

Best day of our trip!
We booked a 7-hour boat tour around Capri with Francesco & it was easily a highlight of our whole trip! He was professional, responsive, and very accommodating with schedule changes. Booking & boarding was easy. He stayed in close contact beforehand to help us navigate to the marina & meeting point.(especially since we did not speak Italian). The day was very well organized, he had prosecco waiting onboard, took us to great swimming and sightseeing spots around the island, made stops to Positano, and also made lunch reservations at Conca del Sogno near Sorrento. (Highly recommend!!) Overall, the experience felt seamless and relaxed. Francesco was knowledgeable, enjoyable to spend the day with, and helped us capture some great photos along the way. We would absolutely recommend booking with him while visiting Capri.

10/10
Francesco was an amazing captain. Everything was seamless and stress-free from start to finish. My friend and I had such a fun day on the water. We were able to visit the Blue Grotto with little wait, had a great lunch in Capri, and enjoyed swimming in the most beautiful spots. He also went above and beyond to make the day feel special. Highly recommend!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.
How much does Private boat tour in Capri and Blue Grotto cost?

Is Private boat tour in Capri and Blue Grotto worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
