Captain Brian is the best
We booked with Green Boat about a week in advance and had the most wonderful experience! Our captain, Brian, was absolutely fantastic and made the day so enjoyable for my entire family. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to spend the day with. Seeing the coastline from the water was breathtaking and gave us a completely different perspective of the area. The boat was immaculate, the service was outstanding, and the entire experience was worth every penny. If you’re visiting the area, don’t miss the opportunity to spend a day on the water with Green Boat. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the beautiful review! Knowing that you found the boat immaculate and our service outstanding means the world to us. Captain Brian sends his best and looks forward to your next adventure on the water with us!

Bryan from the Green Boat was amazing. His boat was gorgeous and spotless and he was so informative and accomodating. We had our 10 year old daughter with us and she loved it also.

Green Boat DOES NOT HONOR reservations. They will CANCEL on you LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE YOUR TRIP!
We were so excited for this trip celebrating our good friends who were just married. Less than a week away from our excursion with Green Boat they reached out us to inform us that they had double booked and were not able to honor the reservation that we had made months ago. They tried to offer us another boat that looked like a refitted fishing boat from the 60s that was falling apart and barely sea worthy. I would not suggest ever renting with Green Boat as there is a good chance they will cancel on you at the last minute.
Response from the operator: Dear Andrew, I have tried to explain also on the review you have left at Google (and previously via email) the reason why we couldn't make the tour on the day you have asked which is not the one you have mentioned above. I have also propose you to anticipate the tour or postpone it as you are staying in the area for few days as the concierge of the Hotel told me but you have refused. I have then propose you another boat. The boat I offered is the same as the one on the website, the difference is on the color of the cushions. The boat is a Mussini made by the Portofino's shipyard which purchase cost is 160.000€ not properly an old fishing boat. No offence was needed. Furthermore you have reserved without asking pictures of the boat so you didn't know which boat you where going to use. Despite of this I have also given you an important discount for the inconvenience. I have always been nice and kind to you but you offended us and our society and also use the social media to wishing evil, may be it is a bit too much.

FIRST CLASS!
FIRST CLASS! We booked a private trip around Portofino and the surrounding bays for our daughter’s 30th birthday. We were not disappointed. The team that is Michela and Brian are so professional and accommodating. The boat itself is beautiful and Brian is a very skilled skipper. Michela handled our booking expertly and kept in touch regarding the weather and timings. We enjoyed Prosecco and focaccia on board and Brian was very knowledgeable about the area. We had the best day and would recommend wholeheartedly. Thank you!
Response from the operator: Thanks Lisa for your nice words, we really appreciate that. It was a great pleasure to meet you and your wonderful family. Wish you all the best

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Boat Excursion to Portofino: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Genoa.
How much does Private Boat Excursion to Portofino cost?
+
Prices start at $2,547 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Genoa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Boat Excursion to Portofino take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Genoa is not rushed.
Is Private Boat Excursion to Portofino worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Genoa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Boat Excursion to Portofino?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Boat Excursion to Portofino suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Boat Excursion to Portofino?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Genoa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Genoa and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Boat Excursion to Portofino start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Genoa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Genoa?
+
On Outty we rank every Genoa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rooftop Cooking Class in Genoa: Pesto, Fresh Pasta & Wine, Genoa Small-Group Food Tour with Full Meal & Local Food Expert, Genoa Food, Wine Tasting & History Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Genoa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Genoa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What happens to Private Boat Excursion to Portofino if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Genoa. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
What do travelers say about Private Boat Excursion to Portofino?
+
Across 17 reviews averaging 4.8 out of 5, recurring themes include knowledge and storytelling, the guide, photo opportunities. Reviewers describe the commentary as informative rather than scripted.
