    Private Beijing Layover Tour

Jenny met us as instructed. We were very late due to a delay. But the company was able to adjust everything accordingly. We were able to see the wall and visit the forbidden city! Jenny was super nice and fun!

12 hour layover in China , made unforgettable!

This was an enjoyable way to pass a layover and the best idea ever! We were a group of 8 friends reuniting to travel together to our best friends wedding in the Philippines . We had a long 12 hour delay in China, so our friend suggested we try a layover tour. I had never heard of such a thing and was weary how trustworthy it could be. But based on the reviews, we decided to go for it! We are so glad we did! Despite the headache to get out of Chinese airport (security, visas, etc) Chinatoursnet made this an enjoyable and memorable experience for us all! They gave us detailed instructions to checkout of the airport w/appropriate visas and were beyond flexible. I was so worried we would be left stranded since our flight was delayed and the process for our visa took almost 2 hours! But our guide waited patiently for us and even helped translate at Starbucks for a quick breakfast. Our guide, Jenny, was amazing!!! She was sooo patient! Corralling a big group is never easy and can be daunting at times, but she handled herself with such grace and kindness. We are beyond grateful to her. Unfortunately due to the delays, we were pressed on time and were only able to “sample” the Forbidden City and Great Wall. Despite the time constraint, we all had a great time and now we can all say we have experienced one of the worlds greatest wonders! Now that I know tours like this exist, I won’t hesitate to get long delays in the future. In fact, I might start looking for them since sometimes you can save a lot on airfare. Again, I can’t express how grateful we are to have had Jenny as our tour guide. She worked very hard that day to keep us all on schedule and back to the airport in time for our flight. Thank you Jenny and chinatoursnet for this unforgettable experience!

Great Wall, Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City

Wonderful day trip ( 20 hour lay over at Beijing Airport.) Our guide Jenny was awesome! After obtaining our day visa( at airport booth) We met guide at Airport Exit to begin our day tour. Directions on how to do this were sent to us. We saw all three places. What history! Plenty of time at each with shopping at Jade shop & dumplings at end. Jenny took us back to check in & walked us to Security. Time spent well! Would recommend it to all.

    Great customer service!

I was going to travel alone and asked Jenny if I can be join a group bus tour as I wanted to be with a group and on a limited budget. She was kind enough to customize the tour for me and arranged for my airport transfer and then joining the bus tour. However, due to some issue with transit visa, I was not able to take the flight to Beijing and had to reroute my itinerary. I then emailed Jenny to cancel my tour and requested for a refund. Jenny quickly replied and processed my refund. Quick and efficient customer service! Keep it up!

Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City cost?

    +

Prices start at $67 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Beijing Layover Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall and Forbidden City start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
