Amazing “Bucket List” Experience!!
Words can’t describe how amazing our trip was!! I talked to Matt, our guide, before we left for Alaska and he explained everything about our excursion. Without a doubt, I have never encountered a guide who is more passionate about his work and the animals/environment!! My husband and I can’t say enough good things about Matt and our trip!! Once we got to Waterfall Creek by seaplane (which was awesome!), he said, “sit back and wait for the magic to unfold” and boy did it!! We were fortunate to have two grizzlies show up for the salmon and they stayed for about 1 1/2 hours! We got some incredible videos and photos!! This was definitely a bucket list experience and it exceeded our expectations!! Thank you Matt and Wild Coast Excursions!! We will remember this trip forever!! Kristi and Ken Toler Ridgeland, MS
Response from the operator: Thank you Ken and Kristi. We appreciate your kind words about Matt! Thank you for visiting!

Bucket list experience
Our bear viewing day trip was a perfect experience. Our guide Matt was very informed, so helpful, and could answer any of our questions. The whole day was magical, and was a once-in--lifetime experience to view beqrs in the wild, living their normal life. Highly recommended! We were so lucky that our planned visit to Alaska coincided with the salmon spawning season, and enabled this wonderful opportunity.
Response from the operator: Thank you for joining us!

We had a great excursion, would recommend it!
Although we did not see bear, about a week early I’d guess this year. July 20th, 2025, the salmon were starting their run. The flight, the pilot, the guides and the scenery was amazing! We’d certainly do it again and would recommend the Waterfall Creek Bear Viewing excursion.
Response from the operator: Thank you Leanne! We're glad you enjoyed your trip with us despite the slow start to the peak season. Please come again!

Best excursion we did in Alaska!
Our float plane trip to waterfall creek was so much fun and while our bears chose to show up late the time we spent with them was our favorite thing we did in Alaska ! Highly recommend Wildcoast Alaska
Response from the operator: Thanks Mike! We're glad you enjoyed yesterday's trip. Such a beautiful day!

A fantastic opportunity to view bears in their natural habitat!
This is an absolutely unforgettable and amazing experience with Wild Coast Excursions. From start to finish it was a well organized trip. Our guide was approachable and informative and made the experience that much more enjoyable. His knowledge of the bears and the region was the perfect companion to watching the magnificent bears. The fact that you start and end with a float plane adventure adds to the overall fun. I strongly recommended this trip, you will not regret it.
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your next trip!

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.
How much does Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane cost?
+
Prices start at $2500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.
Is Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Bear Viewing By Seaplane start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Juneau?
+
Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Whales and Wilderness Exploration. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Juneau?
+
May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Juneau?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
