The coolest thing to do in Juneau!

This was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had! (and I’m 50 and have traveled a lot) We did this tour because we had already seen glaciers & whales and wanted to do something different. So glad we did! My husband and I have never paddle boarded but no experience is necessary. They have all the gear (nice, new gear) and we felt like we were in great hands with Nigel, our guide. He was such a nice guy and kept the atmosphere fun while telling us a lot about the area. He definitely knew what he was doing as he didn’t even wear a dry suit! I love that it was a small group tour! It was only my family of four and another family of two. Most of us fell in the water at some point, but it was no big deal. The dry suit kept us totally dry and Nigel helped us back on the board and on we went. The scenery was beyond incredible from the middle of the water. 360° of mountain views and a great view of Mendenhall glacier. We saw seals swimming nearby and young bald eagles flying by. We even had a “picnic” in the middle of the bay! It was awesome! If you’re thinking about it, you should definitely do this tour. They are a family business and it’s clear that they love what they do and want you to love it too. They have thought of every detail. They even had waterproof phone cases attached to all the life vests so you can take plenty of pictures! I would absolutely recommend this to everybody!

    Loved the experience!

We had a great experience with Paddle Juneau. Nigel was our guide and did a great job explaining how the dry suits worked, how to put them on, and how to use the paddle boards. Not only was he friendly and helpful, he is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. This is a glacier VIEW paddle boarding adventure, so you will not be paddleboarding at the Mendenhall Glacier, but off the Douglas Island where you can see the Glacier while paddleboarding. My husband and I truly enjoyed our time.

A perfect day for paddle boarding

Paddle boarding in Juneau from Douglas Island was a truly unique and breathtaking way to experience the beauty of Alaska. I could not have been more pleased with this adventure. I felt like it was the perfect amount of time, and it offered a great view of Mendenhall Glacier. We got to see some sea lions and eagles, which is always fun! And I appreciated the patience and insight that the guides gave as we paddled out and around. Highly recommend!!!

    Can’t miss tour!

Had an absolutely AMAZING time, perfect way to enjoy the beauty of Juneau without fighting the crowds, great views of the area and the glaciers. Dry suits work amazing, we got to jump in a few times without ever getting wet! Our tour guides were the absolute best about curating the tour to what we wanted. Would HIGHLY recommend this tour even if you only have one day in Juneau, would give 10 stars if that was an option.

    Coolest Alaskan experience

Easily the coolest experience I’ve had in Alaska! Spectacular views and even though it was raining the dry suits made it so I was warm! The guides made us feel super comfortable.

Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.

How much does Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views cost?

    +

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.

Is Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Group SUP tour in Juneau with Mendenhall Glacier Views start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Juneau?

    +

Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Juneau?

    +

May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Juneau?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
