Barossa Valley tour July 2025

Had a fantastic day touring several boutique wineries. John Angel was the perfect host and guide. From the very first point of contact he maintained communications, suggesting an itinerary and keeping us informed throughout. My brother and I would highly recommend John to anyone wanting to experience the Barossa Valley.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review John, it's great to hear positive feedback. It was an absolute pleasure touring with you and Brother Peter. Two English gentlemen out to discover the Barossa Valley... and the wines that you regularly drink when back at home. Hope you witnessed the Quokkas at Rottnest Island, West Australia and continued to have a safe journey on your adventures to our part of the world. Keep well. Best regards John

Really enjoyed our day...

Really enjoyed our day with John visiting the Barossa region. Sampled (lots) of different wines at 4 different wineries and even took in a microbrewery. Plenty of interesting facts from John about the area. Would recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your great review and recommendation, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your day. Hope to see you again some time soon to visit another one of South Australia great wine regions.

Great personal tour with a friendly informative and knowledgeable guide

With limited time available, we were looking for a shorter wine tour of the Barossa Valley and a pick-up from our Adelaide Hills hotel. Most standard bus and group tours could not fulfil these requirements. So we were thrilled to have found Best Wine Tours, who were able to deliver exactly what we needed at a decent price. Our guide, John, helped us draw up an itinerary that fitted our timeframe and our interests and was flexible enough to change when time became short. As a result, we had a fantastic day out, visiting 4 wonderful wineries with an excellent lunch stop at Char Barossa. John's vast knowledge helped us appreciate the history of the places we visited. He was also very friendly and fun to be with. We highly recommend Best Wine Tours to anyone looking for a tailored tour that delivers a lot more than the standard offering.

Best Barrosa Valley Wine Tour

Best Wine Tours, specifically John Angel, put together a great day for us, even though our flight got in a little late and many wineries were closed due to Christmas Eve. John is very knowledgeable, fun and flexible. We enjoyed the great wine of Barrosa Valley at three lovely wineries that were each unique in their own way. Would definitely recommend. Thank you John!

Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Adelaide.

How much does Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide cost?

+

Prices start at $639 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Adelaide usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Adelaide is not rushed.

Is Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Adelaide, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Adelaide can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Adelaide and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Barossa Valley Wine Region Tour from Adelaide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Adelaide within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Adelaide?

+

On Outty we rank every Adelaide experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Barossa Small Group Tour: Wine tasting, Lunch & Chocolate, Discover Barossa: 4 Wine Tastings, Gourmet Lunch, and Hidden Gems, Adelaide Highlights, Hahndorf & McLaren Vale Wine Tasting and Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Adelaide?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Adelaide?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
