    Expected more

This tour is not what we expected. We (party of 9) were picked up at the location specified by our driver. He drove us to Pearl Harbor (around 10am arrival) and we were walked to security and then we were on our own. I didn't realize that we would not have him inside the park, I read later that tour guides were not allowed in the National Park. Please note that you cannot bring a purse in the park unless it is small and clear. Please check for the rules before you go. We were told to meet back at the parking lot at 3:30. Tickets to the Arizona were given to us, we had a 11:30 time slot, tickets are free, and tickets to the Bowfin submarine ($22.00ea) It was more than enough time in the park. Our driver was a chauffeur and not so much a tour guide. We would have appreciated the option of notifying him that we were finished with the park. We did not need 5 hrs. We had a soda or water and a granola bar as a snack. The national cemetery is only a drive through, we couldn't get out and walk around. Disappointing. In the description of What's included, says a t-shirt is a special gift. I thought we would all get a shirt, we got one. We drove through Honolulu saw what was on the list of things to see, stopped by the Golden statue of King Kamehameha the Great. Was taken back to the port. This was an expensive tour, 2395.00 for 9 people. I don't feel this was worth the money. I can't understand why this was so expensive when the Park is free and we had a short tour after. We used Viator in Hilo ( Valcano's National Park) and that tour was outstanding. It was 1000.00 less.

Response from the operator: Dear Julianne, Aloha Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. However, we must respectfully disagree with your assertions about this tour. First, you mention that the Arizona Memorial Ticket is free. That is not correct. You can walk into the visitor center for free. The Arizona Memorial ticket is not free. If you want to stand in line with a group pf 9 people at the Arizona Memorial and hope there is an opening for all of you, then that is free. For us, these tickets are not free. May not realize this but hose nine reserved tickets for the Arizona Memorial that the driver put into your hand were reserved two months in advance in competition with 500 other tour companies. These tickets sold out in less than half a second, two months ago. We reserved them, we paid for them, and we put them in your hand. That is why you walked into Pearl Harbor, sat on a US Navy boat, and went to the monument instead of waiting for hours in line. You said that the driver didn't follow you into the park. He walked you into the visitor center, gave you an orientation in the visitor center and gave you the tickets in the visitor center. He was with you everywhere he was legally able to go. The places he did not go were where it is against the law. In addition, everything you need is in the visitor center. The only thing the driver would be doing is hanging around you which is not necessary. You mention not being able to stop at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Are you willing to break State Laws? No commercial vehicle is allowed to stop and let people out at Punchbowl Cemetery. It is against the law and it is strictly enforced. This is not a regular tourist spot. It is an active cemetery. If there were no regulations against letting groups of people from tour vehicles out in the cemetery, It will quickly turn into a zoo. This is the last thing that our heroes and their families deserve. You paid for private transportation. In the vehicle, there were just the nine of you rather than a full bus or van with many other people. We set aside the vehicle and the driver for you. You didn't have to worry about him being late or having to make multiple stops picking up people who may or may not be ready or who may or may not be in the right place. This is the advantage of a private tour. Of course, for this, you would need to pay extra for a better class of service. You mention only getting one T-Shirt. It is a free gift from our company as a small sign of appreciation. As mentioned on your confirmation, they are given out one per reservation not one per person. We are happy that you enjoyed going to Volcanoes National Park. However, you must remember that that National Park is not equivalent to the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Pearl Harbor is the scene of an attack, people died there and some are buried there. There are many other factors that go in to Pearl Harbor that are different from National Parks they are not the same and should not be compared. Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.

    Must do.

This was a wonderful half day trip! The history of Pearl Harbor is sobbing. Our driver had lots of knowledge, answered our questions and was very personable.

Response from the operator: Dear Client Aloha Thank you for choosing Hawaii Luxury Travel Concierge and Limousines for your Pearl Harbor tours, and mahalo for writing a five-star review for us online. We are so glad that you love everything about your tour. Please contact us on your next trip and allow us to serve you. Until that time, God bless you.

Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Honolulu.

How much does Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $895 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Honolulu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Honolulu is not rushed.

Is Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Honolulu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Honolulu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Honolulu and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Arizona Memorial Bowfin Submarine and Honolulu City Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Honolulu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Honolulu?

    +

Honolulu and greater Oahu run on early starts. Pearl Harbor memorial tickets release on a fixed schedule, the North Shore circle-island loop needs a full day, and the catamaran and snorkel runs off Waikiki fill fast in season. We rank on whether the operator secures Pearl Harbor entry themselves and how tight the circle-island itinerary really is. On Outty we rank every Honolulu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kevo's Beach Bus Paddleboard Snorkel Adventure North Shore Oahu, Pearl Harbor City Tour, Ultimate Pearl Harbor Circle Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Honolulu?

    +

April to June and September to November, between the wet season and peak crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Honolulu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
