Disappointment
Very nice guide (a French intern). The place is really great! On the other hand on the site it is indicated that the experience lasts 3 hours whereas between the time we were picked up at the hotel and the return it happened barely 2 hours. On site, 1 hour only to enjoy (this is not specified in the activity description) and the sauna is not a wood heated sauna but just a standard sauna. We complained and were told that the term "traditional" regarding the fact that it was a "traditional Finnish" activity. In short, despite the setting and friendly guide, we still feel like we've been fooled. Disappointment.

Indispensable activity
It is the best activity we have done, and the experience was so good thanks to Antonella, took care of all the details, even the trip to the place was pleasant thanks to her music and her conversation. Thank you so much for everything Antonella.

Bad experience, great guide!
We got the sauna in the forest without the Jacuzzi, but I couldn’t find it in the options. It was an experience that left me emotionally confused. Our guide and instructor Mimi is certainly the coolest person we’ve met so far in Finland. The “one star” is for her because she’s truly a star and tried to help us in every possible way, and this company should give her a raise and some pizza for being such a great host and person and they’re lucky to have her. Other than that the experience was not good. Our sauna was not burning when we got in, and Mimi turned it on, however it takes plenty of time to get the space warm and make people sweat. We were given more time but I can say that we were sitting in the sauna for an hour and I have had experience more sweating during June in Greece. For this reason it was impossible to jump into the lake which was a dream of mine for quite some time. A dream I had to abandon because of poor management. It would have been so easy to simply have someone check on the saunas before groups arrive, but apparently the company employs different processes. Due to the sauna issues there was plenty of smoke in the room and my partner ended up coughing the whole night, while our clothes smelled smokey on an annoying level. Mimi made sure we’d get a full refund (I told y’all she’s uber-cool!) which was a fair result. Nevertheless, the disappointment lingers, which is natural since it was my one and only chance to experience this, I’ve been saving for such a long time to come to Rovaniemi and do this. Therefore, I would not recommend to anyone to put their trust on Nordic Unique Travels for experiences high on their must-do list. But if you do, ask for Mimi to be your guide, so that you’ll guarantee a good side to all situations that may go wrong! Thank you Mimi!

Sauna and bath in the frozen pond
The sauna is a sauna, we did that on our own inside the "barrel" and it was a nice experience, it lasts an hour which for a sauna is more than enough. Halfway through the sauna we took a break and threw ourselves into the frozen pond, which is more than a lake is a small frozen pool. Anyway, there was ice in it and it was very cold. It was a cool experience because coming from the boiling heat of the sauna then inside the ice water really puts you back in the world, even if I didn't have the courage to fully immerse myself. Everything was followed by many cookies with cinnamon and cranberry juice, while Miriam's incurable sympathy and kindness kept us company throughout the evening.

Not to be missed!!
We were guided by Alizé P in this invigorating experience!!! Pleasant and very nice, she explained everything;) then she accompanied us in the highlights and took the time to check on us and offer us to immortalize the moment! No regrets about going swimming in the frozen lake. Body sensations guaranteed!!! We recommend!!!

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ cost?
+
Prices start at $224 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Arctic Forest Sauna, Jacuzzi with Northern Lights & BBQ start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
