    1. Caminito del Rey

Private tour of the spectacular Caminito del rey with private English-speaking official guide to give you a wonderful insight of the history and culture of the amazing place. / / The Caminito Del Rey is situated in the Gorge Desfiladero de Los Gaitanes and in certain areas, it is just 10m wide and 700m deep. The Caminito Del Rey, translates as ‘The King’s Little Pathway’) and was constructed as a walkway to provide access to several reservoirs used to provide water to a hydroelectric plant. It was opened by King Alfonso XIII and took his name. The original walk way was a very dangerous walkway, perched on top of metal rods that were hammered in to the side of the gorge. During the last century, the walkway fell into disrepair and began to crumble. This made it an extremely dangerous walkway and after numerous deaths, it was closed. This still did not stop people attempting to walk or climb it.

    Excellent

Top notch tour. Our driver picked us up at the hotel in a high end minivan. Rachel, our guide was excellent! We learned about the history, the wildlife, the trees and so much more! My husband was having back problems so Rachel arranged a van to pick us up when we finished the hike to bring us back to our driver. Highly recommend doing the hike with a guide.

    Amazing tour!!

What a great tour. First, the owner Mark did everything he could to accommodate our group. Our cruise ship arrived late to port by over an hour and a half, then the gangway had issues so we ultimately were over 2 hours late getting off the ship. First notifications to Mark were answered quickly and he was able to change our times at Caminito del Rey. Once we were there it was amazing, our tour guide Rachel was full of information and very humorous. The sights were breathtaking. You walk along these wooden ledges attached to the wall of the mountain above the river below. I would do this tour again with ViP Malaga tours.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your great reveiw. It certainly was nerve racking with the ship being late, but all worked out in the end. Kind regards Mark

    Tour to Caminito Del Rey

This was one of the most wonderful tours we have ever done!! Our guide on the mini van was so informative and the guide they set up for the walk was amazing!! She told us all about the whole area, and the history behind the walk. The scenery from start to finish was breathtaking!! I would go again and again if I could!!

Response from the operator: Glad you enjoyed the tour.

    Accommodated late ship

Our ship was late arriving in port and then had further delays due to problems with gangway. The owner was very responsive to emails and despite it being a Sunday morning was able to accommodate our group of 17 with updated/timed entry tickets to Caminito del Rey. He even met us at the port and accompanied us the entire day while his wife was on the phone confirming arrangements. And made sure we got back to the ship on time. He was very responsive to emails and easy to work with during the entire booking process. It was a tad confusing from our end as we were a group of 17 strangers that got together via Cruise Critic. Would highly recommend VIP Malaga Tours!

Response from the operator: A bit nerve racking with the ship being late but it was a great day in the end. so happy that you all enjoyed it. Kind regards Mark
