A brilliant experience ......so much fun and a fantastic memory to take home!
What an absolutely fantastic experience! We booked the Atelier pottery workshop during our trip to Marrakech, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. Something a little different from the usual sightseeing, and an experience I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. I attended with my 12-year-old son, and we both thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Neither of us had any real pottery experience, but that didn't matter in the slightest. The whole experience was incredibly welcoming, relaxed and enjoyable, with just the right balance of guidance and freedom to have a go ourselves. The people running the workshop were absolutely brilliant. Friendly, patient, encouraging and clearly passionate about what they do. They made everything easy to understand and created such a lovely atmosphere that we felt completely comfortable getting stuck in, making mistakes and having a laugh along the way. There's something genuinely satisfying about creating something with your own hands, particularly when you're doing it in a place with such a rich tradition of craftsmanship. It was fascinating to appreciate the skill involved, and certainly gave us a newfound respect for the talented artisans whose work you see throughout Marrakech. What made the experience even better was that it appealed just as much to my son as it did to me. Finding activities that a 12-year-old and his dad can enjoy equally isn't always straightforward, but this absolutely delivered. It was fun, engaging, a little messy and full of laughs......exactly what a holiday experience should be! Being able to take home something we'd actually made ourselves was the icing on the cake. Rather than another souvenir bought from a shop, we came away with something personal and a brilliant memory attached to it. The entire experience was excellent from start to finish, and it's clear that a lot of care goes into making sure visitors have a wonderful time. If you're visiting Marrakech, I'd strongly recommend making time for this workshop. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with children or on your own, you don't need any artistic ability or previous experience to have a fantastic time. A wonderful, authentic, hands-on experience that gave us some great memories and plenty of laughs.

Liars
The owner of the property is a liar, I've booked for 4 ppl, 1 of us got sick i contacted them immediately to change the booking but no answer. I talked to the employee when we arrived and he talked to the owner and said thag it was okay to get la refund for the person that couldn't make it. When i came home and requested a refund through the the onwer says that we never agreed for a refund and basically the whole conversation never happened. The employees on the other hand were so sweet and very helpfull throught the whole worksop. But the owner ia a big liar and has no morals, the only thing they think of is money
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We are glad to hear that you found our team helpful and welcoming. Regarding the refund, we would like to clarify that your reservation and payment were made directly through Viator, not with us at the workshop. Therefore, any refund or modification of the booking must be handled through Viator according to their booking and cancellation policy. We also want to clarify that the owner does not live or work at the workshop in Morocco. The workshop is managed by a local manager and our artisan team. If you believe that a member of our team personally confirmed a refund, we kindly ask you to provide the details of this conversation so we can investigate it properly. We always try to treat our guests fairly and respectfully, and we regret that there was a misunderstanding regarding the refund. We remain happy to welcome you and hope you can understand that we cannot directly refund a payment that was made to Viator.

Getting muddy and arty 😍
Yusuf was a FANTASTIC teacher. There were 6 people for the group lesson. We hand built pots, then had a go at throwing on the wheel, then we got to choose a piece of pottery to paint with glazes. We’ll be picking up our handmade pots and painted pieces 2 days later- so you may need to allow plenty of time for this. You don’t keep what you make on the wheel, as this would take too long. We spent at least 2 hours happily being creative. Yusuf provided tea and water. You may also buy his pieces in the studio, which are very pretty.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 We’re delighted that you had such a fun and creative experience with us at our pottery workshop in the Medina of Marrakech. We’re happy you enjoyed both the hand-building and pottery wheel activities, as well as choosing a ceramic piece to decorate. Our team is always pleased to guide each guest throughout the experience and make the workshop enjoyable for both adults and children. Thank you also for mentioning the collection time. The drying time can vary depending on each piece and its specific needs, so the collection time may be different from one guest to another. We hope you enjoyed the Moroccan mint tea and the atmosphere of our traditional workshop. It was a pleasure welcoming you, and we hope to see you again in Marrakech for another pottery or ceramic painting experience! 🏺🎨✨

Why this scores 62

Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech cost?
+
Prices start at €31 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pottery workshop clay throwing in the Medina of Marrakech start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marrakech: 1 Day Tour-Best of Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys, 3 Days Merzouga Desert Tour from Marrakech with Luxury Camp, Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley, Waterfall + Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
