About this experience

Shortly after the fall of the Great Teotihuacan city as well as not long before the foundation of the Great Tenochtitlan a number of pre hispanic cities struggled to seize control over near by territory and resources. Those concerning the central part of Mexico north east fell within the grasp of the walled city of Cantona. Complying with the constant drive to lead during a historical period characterised by the lack of a centralised super power Cantona's architecture and location are mainly militaristic: we could therefore describe this visit as some sort of hike . This site 's bulding neglected the use of plaster which makes it quite unique in this period and area. This site is not psrticularly popular so be ready for a quiet relaxing open air experience. Its elevated strategic location offers ideal visibility of the local volcanic landscape. After The archaeological zone we drive to Tlaxcala for refreshments and general short visit before driving back yo Mexico city
