We’ll board a trajinera (traditional canoe) at one of the less touristy docks to enjoy the true treasure of this place: nature. We’ll learn about the history of Xochimilco, how the floating islands were formed, and spot native and migratory birds.

Great Tour
Laila is a passionate educator and we really enjoyed spending time with her on this tour. It was fascinating to see how people live in the canals and spot some unusual birds. The farm was very idyllic and it was interesting to learn about their farming practices. I would recommend it to nature enthusiasts and those who are interested in sustainability. It's a 1-1.5 hour drive from CDMX so plan accordingly.

Excellent nature and culture focused tour
We had a wonderful time with Laila at Xochimilco! We learned about and tasted local delicacies at the market, then spent a wonderful quiet time in the canals enjoying nature and learning history. I recommend getting some pulque before disembarking on the boat!

Xochimilco experience away from the party boats
We had a walking tour of Roma and Condesa on the 7th of July with Laila and she mentioned a tour of Xochimilco. We did this and it was quite simply incredible. Laila’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the area and its philosophy was amazing. A real emphasis was placed on sustainability, wildlife protection, and understanding indigenous culture. A brilliant way to get an insight into Mexico City outside of tourist traps. The local farm Señorita was charming with amazing food and plants. If you get a chance do this and the music in the car was pretty good 🇮🇪

Nature lovers must do !!
Experience was 10/10 it is a must if you are in CDMX ! Our guide Laila was fantastic the trip the nature the food the host ALL was amazing we saw so many birds and wild life as well as visiting the farm with farm to table produce for breakfast just incredible!
