    Good but not Great

Good but not as great as trip to Capri. For the tour company, ensure your guides can speak very good English or at least have no problem expressing themselves, otherwise a lot goes left unsaid on the tour and we are only left with names of places, which is not so interesting. Having some music during the trip sometimes also makes it more enjoyable. Stops in Positano and Amalfi feel rushed. One single stop in either would be better. Capri trip was better value.

    Disappointed

I honestly cannot recommend this boat trip, especially if you are travelling with children. From start to finish, I felt completely blindfolded because we were given virtually no information about the itinerary. Our tour guide/captain could barely speak English, and we could not understand what he was saying for the majority of the trip. This made the “tour” feel completely pointless because we had no idea where we were going, what we were seeing, or what was happening next. The trip was advertised as having multiple stops, but we spent almost the entire day on the boat. We were only given around 45 minutes in Amalfi, and by the time we had docked, we had received no recommendations or guidance about where to go or what to see. There simply wasn’t enough time to do anything meaningful before having to return to the boat. It was also advertised as including lunch and snacks, but nothing was handed out during the trip. Towards the very end, when I went to the toilet, I noticed some small crusty bread rolls sitting near the toilet area that had clearly never been offered to us. The only food/drink we were actually given was one small glass of lemon sorbet right at the end. What made the ending even more frustrating was that the captain suddenly appeared asking everyone for tips and reviews, and even stopped the boat while people were writing reviews. At this point, I just wanted to get off the boat. It felt incredibly inappropriate to be asking for reviews and tips after such a disappointing experience. I booked this expecting a proper guided boat tour with multiple stops, information about the places we were visiting, and the lunch/snacks that were advertised. Instead, I spent almost an entire day sitting on a boat with my young son with very little information or opportunity to actually experience Amalfi and Positano. If I had known beforehand that we would spend virtually the entire day on the boat with so little time off it, I would never have booked this trip. Very disappointing experience and absolutely not what was advertised.

    Best boat day!

An excellent day! Being in peak summer, being on a boat with the wind and swimming was a great way to spend the day. The two hosts were fantastic, very knowledgeable about the areas and gave us facts along the way, kept us topped up with drinks and had great music going all day. Got to see a lot and experience Positano and Amalfi without having to stay there. There was only about 10 of us on the boat which was perfect. Definitely would do this again!

    Plenty of swimming time...

Plenty of swimming time and time to explore Amalfi and Positano. Captain and crew had great energy with music and food. Would do this again 100%

Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sorrento?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
