    Amazing skipper Flavio!

Check in was a little hard to find but once we found it everything was ‘smooth sailing’. Water was a bit choppy, no fault of anyone, so our swim stop was moved closer to Sorrento as Flavio made sure we experienced all parts of the itinerary!

Amalfi coast tour is a must see!

Wonderful tour! Our host Francesca was the best! She was always walking around the boat sharing details about each site with the different groups of guests. The sites were amazing and the music and dancing on the ride back was so fun! Highly recommend the tour company and host!

Beautiful Boat and Coastline, but the Experience Felt Rushed

Overall, we enjoyed our day on the water and there were several things this tour did very well, but there were also some significant issues that kept it from being the relaxing experience we expected. The day started smoothly. We found our guides easily at the Sorrento marina and boarded promptly. There were two groups on our boat—our group of five and another group of seven—and the boat itself was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We sat at the front of the boat on the way toward Positano and Amalfi, which I highly recommend. The morning air was still cool, the views were beautiful, and it was a wonderful way to see the coastline. Our guides were polite and offered us drinks, and as we traveled they occasionally came forward to point out landmarks and explain what we were seeing. We also had a short swim stop near the Li Galli islands. One of our biggest frustrations, however, was how rushed we felt every time we needed to disembark. As we approached Amalfi, Positano, and again when returning to Sorrento, we were repeatedly told to gather everything and be ready to get off the boat within just a few minutes. We completely understand that these are extremely busy ports and that small boats may have limited time to dock, but this could have been communicated much better. Instead, each arrival felt stressful and hurried, which detracted from what was supposed to be a relaxing day on the water. A simple explanation ahead of time—“The port only gives us a few minutes, so please start gathering your belongings 10 minutes before we arrive”—would have made a huge difference. We were also disappointed by the lack of guidance once we arrived in Amalfi and Positano. We were essentially dropped off without much information about what to see, where to eat, or how best to use our limited time. We had to actively ask the guides for recommendations rather than having them proactively orient us. Even a few restaurant suggestions, landmarks, or a simple explanation of how to spend our time would have added a lot of value. We also never received the bottle of Prosecco that was advertised as part of the tour. They did serve us a cup of fresh fruit on the return trip, which was refreshing and very much appreciated after a long day of sightseeing. Our biggest disappointment, however, was the final swim stop. One of the reasons we specifically chose this tour was that it combined sightseeing in Positano and Amalfi with opportunities to swim along the coast. According to the tour description, the main swim stop after Positano was supposed to last approximately 30 minutes. As we approached the swim location, our guide repeatedly encouraged us to skip the stop because a storm was expected later that evening and he was concerned that conditions could become choppy. We certainly understand that safety has to come first, and if the captain believed conditions were unsafe, we would have had no issue whatsoever with the swim being canceled. However, that was not how the situation was presented. Instead, the decision seemed to be placed on us, while we were also told that the other group on the boat did not want to swim. It left us feeling pressured to agree to skip an advertised portion of the tour rather than being given a clear safety-based decision by the crew. We ultimately asked if we could at least stop for 10 minutes. When we arrived, there were roughly 10 other tour boats already there with people swimming and seemingly enjoying themselves. That made the repeated effort to discourage us from stopping particularly frustrating. We were given only about 10 minutes in the water, and the entire experience felt timed and rushed rather than relaxing. We were one of the last boats to arrive and one of the first to leave. Since swimming was one of the main reasons we booked this particular tour, we felt shortchanged. There was a lot to like about the day: the boat was beautiful and clean, the coastline was spectacular, and we were able to visit both Amalfi and Positano and enjoy some time in the water. But the repeated rushing, lack of guidance at the destinations, missing advertised Prosecco, and especially the shortened final swim stop kept the experience from living up to our expectations. For anyone booking this tour, I would recommend sitting at the front of the boat in the cooler morning hours and saving the shaded rear seating for the return trip—it worked perfectly for us. I would also be prepared to disembark very quickly at each port and would recommend confirming the planned swim stops and durations with the crew at the beginning of the day. If the crew suggests shortening or eliminating an advertised part of the itinerary, I would ask for a clear explanation as to why. Overall, we had a nice day and saw some truly beautiful places, but with better communication and a less hurried approach, this easily could have been a much better experience.
