Dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, it is especially venerated by the fishermen and people of the sea, being the stage of one of the oldest pilgrimages in the city, which is held annually in honor of the patroness. 5. Alfandega Porto Congress Centre

   Porto Customs Congress Center – A historic icon at the Douro Beach. Located on the right bank of the River Douro, in the heart of the historic centre of Porto, the Porto Customs Congress Centre is one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Originally built between 1859 and 1869 as the "New Alfândega", on the old Miragaia beach, this neoclassical building was designed by the French architect Jean-François Colson. Its construction represented one of the most significant urban transformations of the 19th century in Porto, including the connection to Campanhã Station by a railway branch in 1888.

6. Cais De Gaia

   The Cais de Gaia - The image of the Port wine cellars Situated on the south bank of the Douro River in Vila Nova de Gaia, it is one of the most emblematic areas of the Porto region, combining history, culture and leisure with a stunning view of the historic centre of Porto. For centuries, Cais de Gaia has been a vital river port, especially for the transportation of Port wine. The traditional rabello vessels brought the barrels from the Alto Douro to the cellars in Gaia, where the wine was aged and prepared for export.

7. Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar

   Sierra do Pilar Monastery – World Heritage Site with King Views. At the top of the hill of Vila Nova de Gaia, with a privileged view of the Douro and the historic centre of Porto, stands the Monastery of the Serra do Pilar, one of the most recognizable silhouettes of the urban landscape of the Douro. Built in the 16th century, this circular monastery is unique in Portugal, inspired by Italian Renaissance churches. Its church and impressive circular cloister were designed by the Order of St. Augustine, and later the building had military use, which explains its robustness and strategic location. Today, the Serra do Pilar Monastery is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and offers one of the most stunning viewpoints over Porto and the river Douro. 10. Reserva Natural Estuario do Douro

    Even at the exit of Porto, where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean, a true natural treasure is hidden: the Local Natural Reserve of the Douro Estuary. This protected area, located on the south bank of the river, next to the parish of Afurada, is a sanctuary for more than 200 bird species and one of the last well preserved estuary shelters in urban environment in Portugal. Here, among reptiles, juncails and sand banks, it is common to observe several migratory bird species. A surprising natural spectacle just minutes from the city centre.
