About this experience
With only your group on board (up to 10), this is Porto as few travelers ever see it — from the water, unhurried, and entirely yours. Our spacious sailboat features a full onboard bathroom, a Bluetooth sound system, and a bar ready to serve you throughout the journey. We set sail from Afurada Marina and glide toward the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, taking in the monuments and sharing stories of Porto's rich maritime history. There's plenty of time for photos of the bridge and the old town from the water — the angle that makes the city look its best. From there we head out to the Atlantic, passing through the mouth of the Douro. On our way back, we raise a final toast with Port wine and Portuguese chocolate — the perfect end to a special afternoon. Our tour is proudly pet-friendly. Ideal for couples, families, or a group of friends looking to disconnect, relax, and soak in every moment, to the sound of the waves.

Overloaded boat, and free drink means 1/3 of a wine glass.
They say the boat is "capped at 10", well we had 13. No snacks. One free drink, with about a 50ml pour. After that they were going to charge me. Would not go back.
Response from the operator: Dear Jim, Thank you for taking the time to write this, and we are sorry. What you describe is far from the experience we set out to give, and it has genuinely troubled us here. Rather than guess what went wrong, we'd like to look into it properly. Could you send us the date and departure time of your trip, and the name the booking was made under, to +351 914 598 216 (whatsapp) or [info@portsailors.com](mailto:info@portsailors.com)? That allows us to identify exactly which boat and which crew operated your sailing and to go through it with them in detail. Two hours on the water should feel unhurried and generous, and it clearly didn't for you. We'd very much like the chance to understand why and to make it right. Fair winds, Rui, Port Sailors

Sunset Wine Charcuterie and Great Hosts
What a fantastic evening spent on Rui and A’Patricia’s beautiful sailboat. We were a group of 4 but the boat has plenty of room for 8 comfortably. They were the absolute best host/hostess!! The wine, charcuterie board and conversation exceeded expectations and the sunset was amazing. The boat was immaculately clean and very comfortable. If you are in Porto this is the couple to see the sunset without a doubt!
Response from the operator: Dear David, What a lovely thing to read, thank you so much. Evenings like yours are exactly why we do this: four guests, no rush, the charcuterie board out as Porto turns golden, and the conversation carrying us down the Douro towards the Atlantic. Patrícia and I are especially glad the boat felt comfortable and cared for. Our sailboat is kept for small groups precisely so no one has to share the sunset with a crowd. You'll always have a place aboard when you're back in Porto. Fair winds, Rui & Patrícia

Highly recommend this trip!! Book it!!
The sailboat was beautiful and the experience was so relaxing! The crew was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the trip! It was just our group on the boat that made it extra special!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We take great care of our boat, so it's lovely to hear she made an impression. Keeping the groups small and private is exactly what allows for that relaxed feeling you described, and we're delighted it came through. It was a pleasure having your group aboard. Come back and sail with us anytime! Rui & PAtricia The Port Sailors crew

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate cost?
+
Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Porto: Private Sunset on a Sailboat with Port & Chocolate start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
