Fantastic tour
I can’t speak highly enough of this tour. The off road part was hugely exciting and enjoyable. The views were fantastic Josue was a fantastic guide. He was entertaining, informative and nothing was too much trouble for him. Included in the tour were cookies at the beginning and drinks at the end. This is a tour not to be missed.

Joy riding in Porto
This was more fun than grownups should be allowed to have! Our guide communicated with us before the trip, and picked us up right on time outside the Cruise terminal. His Land Rover was cleaning comfortable. We had an amazing, thrilling off-road experience through the beautiful mountains outside of Porto. We discovered a tiny village where only six people live. We had drinks at a small riverside cottage. The guide gave us the option to be taken back to the ship or dropped off in Porto. The entire experience was well curated, exciting and enjoyable. I would do this again tomorrow if I could..
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Julie! 😊 We’re thrilled to hear you had so much fun — and that the grownups were allowed to enjoy it! 😄 It was a pleasure showing you the mountains, the tiny village and the riverside spot. We’re especially happy everything from pickup to drop-off made the experience smooth and enjoyable. We’d love to have you back for another adventure! 🚙🏔️🇵🇹

Exceptional afternoon
From the booking to we were dropped off , the experience was fantastic. We would both say this trip was highlight of a very nice stay in Porto. To leave the business of the beautiful city and experience nature in the mountains valleys, rivers and historic sites and a village with only six residents was very special indeed. Our driver Ricardo was simply 10* plus!! He was very relaxed, nothing was too much trouble and his driving was exceptional in some very scary terrain!! It was like a real life rollercoaster! the extras were an added bonus like a stop at a really old family run cookie shop and a drink at the end of tour . Thanks Ricardo for going over and above for us today . We will be recommending this trip to any of our friends visiting Porto
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! 😊 We’re thrilled that the tour became one of the highlights of your stay in Porto. Ricardo will be delighted to hear your kind words — especially the 10* plus! 😄 It was a pleasure showing you the mountains, valleys, historic sites and those little local gems. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to see you again! 🚙🏔️

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group cost?
+
Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 621 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group?
+
Around 217 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Porto Mountains in 4x4-Small Group start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Best of Porto Walking Tour Small Group Experience and Local Guide, Douro Valley Small Group Tour: 2 Wineries, Lunch & River Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+
Included: Local guide; Liability insurance; Exclusive off-road trails inaccessible to regular vehicles; Experienced driver-guide and off-road adventure; and Accommodation pickup and Drop-off in Porto. Not included: Meals. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
