If you love history, a visit to Domaine de Labourdonnais in Mapou is a must. Domaine de Labourdonnais is famous for its château, which was built between 1856 and 1859 and was inhabited by a Mauritian family for over 150 years. The house is a neo-classical style with the ground floor elevated and a wide veranda wrapping around the house. Step inside and admire the dining room’s beautifully detailed wallpaper and the grand teak and black wood furniture, learning about the huge jars used to marinade fish and meat in the pantry. Guides are on hand to give you insight into the house and its owners. Outside, you can stroll around the estate’s orchards and landscaped gardens and choose to have a fine dining meal overlooking the house the Château, which serves up gastronomic dishes using fruits and vegetables harvested on the estate. North Mauritius and Port Louis tour
In spite of the damp weather, we had a great day with our guide Sameer. The visit to the Tamil temple was a highlight, as was the Central Market and Waterfront in Port Louis. Sameer was very knowledgeable about the history of Mauritius and a really lovely guy. The pre-tour information sent the day before was also appreciated. Would definitely recommend.the tour, the provider and especially Sameer.

I just want to say Kevin is an absolute legend. He’s so kind and patient, he took us around all day with a smile on his face. Answered all our questions and was happy to take extra time when needed. All in all we had the best time ever and Kevin is the best tour guide 🩷

An ideal day to get to know Mauritius a little 😎
Our guide, Hritki, picked us up at the port in time. Our ship was a bit late, but was not a problem. We made our wishes known to him, and he made everything work. The car was very well maintained but for 4 adults people a bit small. But..... we were very satisfied and can highly recommend the guide and the company. Thanks for a nice day!!!!
