    Definitely worth doing!

We did this tour with Kai (might be spelt wrong). We had a fantastic day out. Kai was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and he made the day. We were never made to feel rushed and could have drunk the thumbs barrels dry at the tasting. The restaurant for lunch had the most amazing views and great food. We’d have missed SO much if we’d hired a car and tried to do it ourselves. Next time will fit in more trips. Highly recommend

Amazing day with lots to see and learn

If you are looking for a full-day tour to explore the south of the island, definitely book this!! We started the day by being picked up from our hotel in the north of the island by our private tour guide, Nirmal. From the moment we set off, he was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. In the time it took us to reach our first stop, he had already shared so much fascinating information and history about Mauritius with us. It was lovely to learn more about the island, its culture and its history along the way, and Nirmal really made the whole experience so much more special. The entire day was amazing from start to finish, and we loved every stop on the itinerary. The viewpoints were absolutely stunning, and having lunch at the Le Chamarel panoramic restaurant was such a lovely experience. Being able to sit back, enjoy the incredible scenery and take everything in made it even more memorable. One thing we really appreciated was that the cost of lunch and entry fees for the places we visited were already included in the booking price. It made the day so easy and stress-free, as everything was organised for us and we didn’t have to worry about additional costs at each stop. It was also great to know exactly what was included when booking. The rum tour was another highlight of the day! We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the rum-making process and having the opportunity to experience something a little different during the tour. It was such a fun addition to the itinerary and something we would definitely recommend. A special mention has to go to Nirmal, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire day. He was so friendly, approachable and passionate about sharing his knowledge of Mauritius. He made us feel comfortable from the moment he picked us up and was happy to share information and answer any questions we had. You could really tell that he wanted us to have the best possible experience, and he certainly did that! Even though we were staying in the north of the island, the journey down to explore the south was absolutely worth it. Having a private guide who knew the island so well made the whole day even better, and we came away having seen some incredible places and learnt so much about Mauritius. We genuinely couldn’t fault the experience and enjoyed every minute of it. If you’re visiting Mauritius and want to explore the south of the island, we would 100% recommend booking this tour. And if you’re lucky enough to have Nirmal as your guide, you’re in for an amazing day!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful and detailed review! We are delighted to hear that you had such a memorable experience exploring the south of Mauritius with Nirmal. It is lovely to know that you enjoyed the different stops along the way, from the breathtaking viewpoints and panoramic lunch at Le Chamarel to the rum tour. We are also pleased that the all-inclusive arrangements made your day smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. Your kind words about Nirmal are especially appreciated. We will be sure to share your feedback with him, as he will be delighted to know that his knowledge, friendliness, and passion for our island made your experience so special. Thank you for your enthusiastic recommendation and for choosing Mautourco. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Mauritius for more unforgettable experiences! Beautiful wild south with Raggoo

We had the most amazing day with our guide and driver Raggoo. He shared so much about the island’s history, culture, religions, fauna and flora with us and welcomed all our questions. He really gave us a true sense of Mauritius beyond the luxury hotels and beaches. He took the time to take pictures for us and walk around each spot, whilst explaining their significance. We couldn’t recommend Raggoo and this excursion more. 10/10 experience!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest Name What a wonderful review! We are delighted that you enjoyed exploring the Beautiful Wild South with Raggoo. We’ll gladly share your generous feedback with him. We hope to see you again soon! Best Regards Mautourco Team

    Amazing

Wow, what an incredible day we’ve had, and that is entirely down to Raggo. From the moment we met him, he made us feel relaxed, welcome, and completely looked after. His passion for the island is obvious — his knowledge, stories, and attention to detail brought every place we visited to life. Raggo went far beyond being “just a driver.” He was thoughtful, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best possible experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and he always went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. We visited waterfalls, the coloured earth, the rum factory, small villages, saw giant tortoises, explored a local market, and visited Grand Bassin and the temple — and each stop felt special because of the way Raggo explained and shared it with us. Whatever Raggo is being paid, it truly isn’t enough. He is an absolute credit and without a doubt the best guide we could have hoped for. Thank you so much, Raggo ❤️

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you had such an incredible day and that Raggo played such an important role in making your experience memorable. Your kind words truly mean a great deal to us. It is wonderful to know that Raggo's passion for Mauritius, his knowledge, and his dedication helped bring each location to life and made every stop along your journey special. We take great pride in providing authentic and personalized experiences, and it is rewarding to hear that Raggo exceeded your expectations in every way. We will be sure to share your comments with Raggo and his management team. We know he will be thrilled to learn how much his efforts were appreciated. Team members like him are indeed a great asset, and we are proud to have him representing our destination and our company. Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Mauritius for another unforgettable adventure in the future. Warm regards, Diane
