A glimpse of Port Elizabeth and Safari.

The guide divided the city part of the tour into two. And in between the two halfs of the city was the safari. Wish we could have gone on the safari first early in the morning for more animals. After we were over with the tour I understand why it was between the two half's. The first part was everything new and including memorials to Mandela. The safari was really good considering how small the "farm" was. The guide Quintin was exceptional. Explaining much about the plant life as well as how the animals interact. The second half of the city was enlightening. Explaining where apartheid started. Taking us through the section where the poorer of poor live. And how they are surviving. Wish we would have had a hour more overall.

Response from the operator: Hi James, Thank you for your detailed review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed both the city highlights and the safari. Quintin will be thrilled to know you appreciated his knowledge of the wildlife, plants, and the fascinating stories behind the city’s history. We aim to balance the city and safari experiences in one day, giving guests a full and immersive experience of Gqeberha and wildlife safari in an open vehicle. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back to explore even more of South Africa! Warm regards, Janina & the Into Tours Team

What a wonderful day we had today. Our guide Esaudore was just delightful; knowledgeable, interesting, very courteous and thoughtful. Able to adapt to what we needed and wanted. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough. I loved it was a private tour and the wineries and restaurant ( in particular) were perfect. Stunning scenery. Thank you!

Cancelled our tour 9 days before departing for South Africa!

We booked and paid for this tour on December 9, for a tour to begin at 9:00 on February 6. We were sent a ticket, which we printed out for the trip. On january 9, we get a message "Janina here from Into Tours. I love showing travellers Port Elizabeth and am looking forward to our tour." She asked if we wanted to add an animal park, which we immediately declined, having spent time on safari years ago. There was no further communication until January 22, 9 days before our departure to South Africa, when we received this message: " Many thanks for your reply. We have the scheduled tour booked and we would have loved for you and Tricia to join. Because we are in Addo in the morning on tour, we would have to collect you and Tricia in the afternoon and the time of collection might not be at 13:00. This will inconvenience you and therefore I think that the best would be for you to book your tour with another service provider who has a scheduled tour running to Port Elizabeth city only. Kindly cancel the booking with us. Best regards, Janina " Now I have to figure out how to cancel the tour and try to book another one during our cruise ship stop in Port Elizabeth. Hopefully we are not out the $106 we paid in December; we booked through TripAdvisor, but can't find a record of it when we checked in to the web site. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior on the part of the tour operator, Into Tours; we fortunately have never been treated this way on a booked and paid for tour. Stay away from this one!

Response from the operator: Hi Charles - we reject your review. For the record, your communication toward us was aggressive and this is evident in your version of the events. Your were given two weeks notice of the change in our scheduling prior to the tour taking place, which was an operational decision to better our service to all travellers as you were the only booking for this particular activity. You were also offered alternatives. Your full refund has been processed, so there was really no inconvenience to you whatsoever. We left you with plenty of time to make other alternative bookings and offered in-house alternatives. When you were offered the alternative, YOU cancelled your tour, not us. And, why would you be out of the $106 you paid in Dec? The minute you cancelled, your refund was already in process. We all know that in business there are often double bookings / or clashes in scheduling. Its just unfortunate that no amount of wanting to deal with the issue was good enough for you (even two weeks ahead of time). Regards GP

Pleasant walk through beautiful Port Elizabeth

We had the grateful satisfaction of seeing the beautiful city of Port Elizabeth in the company of Janina. Even before we arrived in South Africa, we were contacted by her to confirm that everything was ready for our tour. Once we met her personally, we were immediately conquered by her sympathy, love for her profession and the city where she chose to live, with her husband and the baby that is on the way. We made the tour of the main tourist sights of this interesting city that conquered us for its unique beauty, which has a markedly Victorian architecture, but which still keeps the historical record of the Portuguese presence in the region. Highly recommended, especially with Janina. Thank you for welcoming us to your town. We hope to review it someday either in South Africa or even in Brazil. Big hug

Response from the operator: Hello Jair- Thank you for your lovely review and high praises of your tour to Port Elizabeth City. Reading your beautiful message puts a huge smile on my face, I had an incredible time with you both, it was a very special tour and I enjoyed every moment. It is my absolute pleasure showing you Port Elizabeth city and its historical influences that are left behind in the many story’s and exquisite buildings, along with our colourful and rich history. Yes, please come back soon, you are always welcome. I hope to see you in Brazil…and experience your amazing country and local cuisine 😊 Big hugs, back!!! Janina

Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Port Elizabeth.

How much does Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha cost?

    +

Prices start at $3200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Port Elizabeth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Port Elizabeth is not rushed.

Is Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Port Elizabeth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Port Elizabeth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Port Elizabeth and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Port Elizabeth Safari and City Tour from Gqeberha start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Port Elizabeth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Port Elizabeth?

    +

On Outty we rank every Port Elizabeth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale, Dolphin & Penguin Island Cruise, Addo Elephant Full Day Safari with a Traditional South African Braai (BBQ) Lunch, Addo Elephant National Park All Inclusive Full-Day Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Port Elizabeth?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Port Elizabeth?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
